bro.. it's dance music.

if you take it as seriously as classical music then you need to do everyone a favour and stop listening to it, and stop going out to club, cause you're ruining the fun for everyone else.

My friends and I aren't the type to go to these parties to get all drugged up and flail our arms around and be surrounded by sketchy Asians. We go for the music.

And when in that post did i say anything about taking EDM as seriously classical?

ps. you sound like a jackass that thinks he knows it all.

you're one of those people that think its only cool if an artist stays "underground". as much as i hate seeing good house music being ruined by radio stations like z103, in the end it is still a business. any artist would be happy to know that their song has hit the mainstream market because that is the only way to really survive. would an artist be happier to know that he/she is selling to thousands or millions of people rather than hundreds? i think so.

as far as benny's set is concerned, i think he did alright. his mixing wasnt the greatest as i heard him fuck up a couple times but he did recover quickly and he did have a good track selection. and from what i could see from the stage, [B]EVERYONE was having a great time so you were probably the only person crying about it in a dark corner.[/B

Trumpet and saxophone.

All the dark corners were being taken up by sketchy asians so I just we just left after about 20 mins. Good thing we didn't pay.

I don't have beef with making money off of your music. I have a problem with making your music FOR money.

wellll i dont know what you guys heard, or where you were.. because i loved every second of his set.. idk maybe i was just in a really good mood, but i thought it was amazzinggggg. The atmosphere, the crowds energy.. everything

but everyone has their own opinion right?

I was only in the gallery for a few of Sydney Blus songs, so i cant really say much about that.

p.s. thats my opinion.

LOL that was hardly his opinion. I think you should re-read his first post again.

Obviously people aren't going to enjoy every night out they have. But too say that no one should like that, and if we do, we have don't know anything about music, is absolutely ridiculous.

Gail in the O was dropped, which was great...but i dunno about ur opinion Mr. beefk...I mean, i know everyone has their own opinion...but u make it kind of seem like, " if you thought his set was good, ur an idiot" type of deal...besides the couple of mistakes, and his flamboyant "happiness" most of the opinions here generate from, "he was ok"...to " i had a wicked time", so benny is obviously doing something right, sorry you diddnt enjoy yourself, go to gallery ot something, theres always good music there, then ur next review can be...i wasnt feeling "enter dj here", so i went to gallery and had a sick time...

anyone who says they "go for the music" is a douche.

They're also between the ages of 19-22 and had their first afterhours EDM experience within the last 24 months.

Dude. You're calling me a douche on an internet forum. How cool.

PS Your promotions site is down. It happens when you suck at something.

relax boys....
i've been to a couple shows in toronto and windsor, and seen benny in london and i didnt think it was his best outing but i think much of the experience is based around the crowd, you have a good crowd thats into it, having a good time your going to enjoy yourself, you have a crowd that isnt feelin it or you go in with negative expectations just looking for his faults and of course your not going to enjoy it...
i think it was prety decent, crowd was energetic so you cant ask for much more...but i did spend the latter part of the nite catching Dekoze, which was prety solid as far as i was concerned...
ps relax on the asians

I missed this one, but saw him at dragonfly a bit ago.

really enjoyed the first 45 minutes of his set. constant build-ups, really interesting electro. after that, he lost me and I wasn't interested anymore.

I think he changed it up after a bit cause the crowd wasn't feeling it. dragonfly was filled with 700 gino's coming to hear satisfaction over and over again for 3 hours. you could tell the crowd didn't know how to react.

I think he might have been using ableton that night, cause the first 45 mins sounded like it might have been impossible to do with cdj's and a pioneer 800 mixer.

I could see him being enjoyable at guv, but I didn't like the crowd he brought out last time I caught him, so I sat this one out

no no,

That was the most horrible display of EDM that I have seen in my life.

THAT was his opinion. That was the subjective comment.

I hope anyone who appreciates music does not think otherwise. If you do, just remove yourself from these forums.

That on the other hand was the arrogant part that people are taking issue with.

I have no problem reading people's negative reviews of events at which I had a positive experience. Opens up my perspective and helps me see things I wouldn't see on my own. A post like this though is doing the opposite - imposing your own limited and narrow view on everyone else.

honestly .. this is a stupid fight
it was said before
everyone likes differnt Djs, styles, songs etc
you didnt like it
you did
shut the fuck up
its not a big deealllll

why does every review have to be a battle to the death on here?
damnnn

Edit..
but i do agree with this

Don't take it personally. everyone goes throught the "I'm in it for the music" phase. I did to, and I was a total douche bag for it.

Re: the website; It's never been up. I have it just for the email addresses.

Re: the sucking; while I do admit that I suck all around, In the past 7 years, I also happen to have promoted almost 200 weekly club nights, almost 80 one off events, done DJ bookings for a couple well known local artists who play all over North America, executively produced a commercially released CD, organized Canadian DJ tours for several well know International DJs and I've made some decent coin in the process! Considering I do it part time and i actually do it for fun, I think promoting is the one thing I'm not sucky at. everything else though.. I suck
