she is mediocre at best, nothing special, and trance vocalists are ruining the genre.....

it's a matter of opinion whether they are "ruining" the music. personally i don't think you need to have that good of a vocal to be a trance vocalist but some do what they do well. i don't expect much from them because they aren't meant to be super singers...i'm biased though because i grew up singing classical stuff and you actually have to be a good singer or you just suck.

i still like jes though...she has a rock-ish voice and she can sing stuff that isn't just trance

that's exactly the kind of attitude that dragged out talentless hacks out of the karaoke bars and into "recording studios". Just because many in the crowd are too wasted to notice, doesn't mean that the sober portion of the audience should be punished for their uninformed choice that evening. Had I known what Jen sounds like live, I'd have gotten maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad drunk before venturing into such uncharted, dark territory.

I grew up listening to classical music, Queen, and Pavarotti - why should I listen to someone who sounds like most of the drunk white trash in my local dive bar, while paying $50 for ticket?

oh i said nothing about wanting to see them live because i don't. i think they have their place in tracks where producers can cut up their vocals to make them sound good. live = bad
