Who is behind "Taxi Girl" ?? is it Jes Brieden ?

Posted by vatoloco77 on Aug-21-2007 20:49:

I just listened the album.... I hoped for the best, but maybe my expectiations were too high...

I think its a nice compilation, nice intro's , but not the vocals I hoped for . Maybe this one is better than isos 4 and 5, but by far not as good as isos 1, 2 and 3 (i wonder if this is even possible :-|).

For me it had been better if tiesto maked one mixalbum with this tracks:

1. Steve Forte Rio - A New Dawn
2. Es Vedra - La Hacienda
3. Glenn Morrison - Contact
4. Andy Duguid Feat Leah - Don't Belong
5. Global Experience - Madras
6. Leonid Rudenko - Summerfish (Scandall Sunset On Ibiza Mix)
7. JES - Imagination (Tiesto Remix)
8. Moonbeam - See The Difference Inside (Inside Mix)
9. Jonas Steur Feat Jennifer Rene - Fall To Pieces
10.Deadmau5 - Arguru
11.Marcus Schossow - Chase My Rabbit
12.Imogen Heap - Hide And Seek (Tiesto's In Search Of Sunrise Remix)
13.Jedidja - Dancing Water
14.D'Alt Vila - Breathing

P.S. That Jes & Julie Thompson can't ever compete with Sarah Mclachlan, Nadia Ali and Carla Werner....

She does have a unique voice doesn't she.

Mixing sounds like a below average bedroom DJ mix...

if it wasn't labelled Tiesto, people wouldn't look at this twice.

Some of the mixing is just plain scary... levels / beatmatching / keys are all off!

That being said, I do like some of the tracks he has chosen... I just don't think that for the "three time #1 DJ" and current "#3 in the world" that there should be such horrid neglect of DJing basics.

the mixing is fine lil newfy boy

Posted by Coxx on Aug-22-2007 00:24:

the album is alright would not say it's awesome cd 1 is to mellow
cd 2 is way better then cd 1

Jonas Steur featuring Jennifer Rene - Fall To Pieces Chooon
First State featuring Anita Kelsey - Falling
Marcus Schssow - Chase My Rabbit
Deadmau5 - Arguru
Nic Chagall - What You Need (NCs In Love With Prog Mix)

ISOS 3,4 were the best of all of them

i thought Disc 1 was better than disc 2. The vocals in Jonas+Rene's song were EXTREMELY amatuerish! It was like Michael Jackson attempting Christina Aguilera.
Tracklist is all this really has to ride on, because the mixing isn't deep at all. The website says it's an afternoon bedroom mix.

lmao

Agreed. She has a nice voice at times ... but her lyrics have no depth. They are just repeated so much!

Allures - Somewhere Inside of Me is absolutely gorgeous though. Such a girly track. I'm sure most guys won't be digging it.

First State & Anita Kelsey;s tune I'd love to hear live!

Other than that I prefer the second half of both cd's.

Just because you're ignorant and deaf doesn't mean that other people can't hear how poorly mixed this album is.

Listened to both CD's...

The mixing wasn't BAD but it wasn't anything like ISOS 1-3, BUT I didn't expect that. The mixing was a lot more tolerable on this ISOS than recent efforts. Both CD's had their ups and downs. I think 2 CD's is just not a great idea for Tiesto.

If he was going to make a one CD mix outta this ISOS I would hope the tracklist would include the following 14 tracks:

Es Vedr - Hacienda
Steve Forte Rio - A New Dawn
Glenn Morrison - Contact
Global Experience - Madras
Nic Chagall - What You Need (NC's In Love With Prog Mix)
Tom Cloud - Mercury Room
Marcus Schossow - Chase My Rabbit
Progression - Different Day, Different Light
Leonid Rudenko - Summerfish (Scandall Sunset On Ibiza Mix)
First State featuring Anita Kelsey - Falling
Andy Duguid featuring Leah - Don't Belong
Jonas Steur featuring Jennifer Rene - Fall To Pieces
Reeves featuring Alanah - Lonely
Moonbeam - See The Difference Inside (Inside Mix)

But oh well... I have to say, one of the most intriguing and rich tracks on the entire album for me was:

Marcus Schossow - Chase My Rabbit

Very lush progressive track for me.

I agree with that. I think he just grabbed as many exclusives/unreleased as he could, picked em out a top hat for organization and hoped for the best that the interchanging noises made sense I like a good number of the tracks, but why bother with having a DJ mix it at this kind of level?

CD 1: 8 vocal tracks

CD 2: 3 vocal tracks

So CD 1 is comprised of 57% vocal tracks whereas CD 2 is only 21%... Dunno why I felt it was necessary to be so specific but w/e. Tiesto did originally intend the ISOS series to be his outlet for vocal tunes.

Posted by sigmanova on Aug-23-2007 04:31:

CD1 was great stuff. definitely better than ISOS4 and ISOS5. the tracks are good, however Tiesto's mixing and blending between tracks leaves alot to be desired. one moment you are feeling the track that is currently playing and then suddenly you begin wincing at the bedroom DJ mixing skills while the next track is being transitioned in. really kills the mood.

other than the really crappy mixing, i think he selected some good tunes for CD1. haven't really given CD2 a spin yet, but beware the mixing, it's extremely amateurish.
