Yes it is a matter of opinion, and the opinion of people who actually are well informed and know what they're talking about is that no "new territory" has been fearlessly explored here (unless you live under a rock and all these songs sound oh so innovative to you). This mix manages to jump on pretty much every bandwagon still rolling at the moment along with a slew of those amazing G&D tracks you know so well to complete the element of surprise...

As for "refusing to conform to any stylistic expectations placed on them", excuse me while I pick myself up off the floor from laughing so hard. Indeed, those of us who are informed wouldn't have expected anything less...

There are far better offerings in more recent mix compilations, where new terrirtory actually HAS been explored and tackled in interesting and innovative ways...from artists that actually do take risks to try something "different" and dont make the tragic faux-pas of comparing their work to something like Involver...

well f*ck you.

i was never mean spirited, just stated how i felt- and was attacked for it.

you people enjoy your little bashing session, clearly a differing opinion is too much to handle.

consider me gone, i'll leave more space on the forum for other people who think JUST LIKE you. more cozy that way, huh?

Differing opinions are fine, and you are welcomed to enjoy the mix, but don't pretend to have a well informed opinion when the opposite is clearly the case...

I don't like the idea that there shouldn't be any more discussion once someone has stated his/her opinion. If i think your opinion is bullshit and you're a stupid idiot, why shouldn't i express that? If we're not gonna criticize each other we might as well just stick to making polls and then quietly look at the results.

I think calling someone who is not overtly hostile a "stupid idiot" isn't a great idea. Reserve such harsh language for people deserving of it like, Rapid_Eye_K or Purple.

ok, i'll give you that. you have point.

when i came on to the forum, i thought most of the negative opinions posted were bullshit, having enjoyed the album so much myself. but rather than attacking those opinions, i stated mine, so that anyone else entering the forum could see that there are people out there right now thoroughly enjoying this cd.

my belief was that we were criticizing the album, not each other's critique of it.

forgive me, i'm new.

If people are being civil theres no reason for me to hurl insults. We may disagree but such is life, no reason to make it ugly...

It was just an example, i started the stentence with "if". I haven't called anybody anything, i haven't even taken part in the original discussion.

True.

So did everyone make up now?

I personally would have expected more from these two. But hey maybe they were short on cash or something, and just completely shitted on the whole "Inovation" Side. When you're pressed for time and hiding on a secluded farm in Tuscany and smoking pot till your eyes bleed this is what you might get . Actually i don't really care that much eveyone is entitled, some people are still finding out what "good music" truley is. I remember when i got back into trance/techno/house/prog whatever the fukk u want to call it, i was had no idea what good music was. just the simple thought of "ohh that sounds good" then someone told me no newb thats TiEtoR omg lolzalotbbq. It takes time to develop and actually get an ear for it. sasha's involver and also fundacion are in a realm of their own much like the talent possesed by digweed, andy moor, etc and i found it amusing also that those two compilations were even mentioned in the same sentence.
