Besides me? It was like this
happy hardcore/cheesy trance/psytrance -> "classic" (99-01) trance -> newer ASOT whiteroom style trance -> hard trance (dead genre) -> prog house -> prog breaks -> a bit of D&B -> crazy robot electro minimal stuff that Zabiela plays -> "classic" trance -> stuff that's in my sig

teehee most of you still on the prog house stage

Not into house at all really, not entirely sure why, it just doesn't do it for me.

I've started listening to some now because I'm getting tired of the cheese factor in a lot of trance productions

If you could take a poll of every single TA member and ask what form of EDM they predominantly listen to, I'm not so sure trance would win. Going by the TA DJ Promotion subforum, there's an awfully vibrant house and progressive scene on these boards.

I started out with Jpop (-_-) > Industrial/Acid > Cheese (Scooter/ happy hardcore > Cheesy Trance > House > Eurodance > Trance > Psytrance > Prog > Progtrance. I'm not really so much into house anymore, unless you are talking about classic house like Joe Smooth or Cartouche.

House music will always rule EDM.

We are the kings, we are the queens of the 2000th century.

We will always keep coming back..cause no one can put us down, if we keep it underground!!

I don't like house, sounds to weak for me haha, I like hard house, hard trance, progressive, vocal some cheese is ok now and then, but not to much.

I like house when I'm at a club and getting crunked.

But my iPod and computer is still loaded epic (cheese) and prog trance.

There was a thread very similar to this maybe a month ago.
I'm into progressive house, but I prefer drum'n'bass, techno and nu skool breaks over it.

I know others look at it differently, though, and I do like the occasional house track.

What the hell?

House music is as much centered around vocals as Trance is, and that is to say, very little.

Or are you talking about super clubby house? Is that what you think Househeads listen to? Non-stop diva house with black women screaming and a non-changing tribal drum pattern that lasts for 7 hours?

I hope that isnt what your perspective is on House music, because House music stretches over a wide range of sound, including deeper, jazzier stuff, to full on rumbling electro basslines.. And everything in between.

That used to be my perception of house back then, and why I hated it. Thank god the tribal house hype is dead, it sucked ass.

lol, so many subgenres to understand. no wonder the average person stereotypes electronic music like crazy.
just house or trance or techno itself has many many many many different sounds
