Just give me some techno (preferably minimal), some deep house, and funky prog, and I'll be a happy clown. There has been a lack of this for a long time now. Oh and of course...some talent being brought in that we don't usually get. I think these Exposed nights will satisfy some of my needs

Is Crosstown still happening? Was that not a deep house option?

i think i would die is there was more excitement.
A couple of points:
- First, I think it's hard to qualify "how good we have it" in Toronto without comparing it to the scenes in other cities. In order to fairly compare it to the scene in other cities, you would have to live there for a number of years, and then have lived in Toronto for a number of years. I find that people are too quick to hype up another city's scene, just because they went on vacation there and had a good time.
- Second, way too many people on this site complain about lack of variety in Toronto, when a lot of times those people usually only go to a very small selection of venues (ie: Guv, This is London). This is usually due to the fact that their friends only go there. If you go to the same clubs all the time, of course you're going to be faced with lack of variety. If you want to see different names, then stop going to the Guv. There is a TON of variety in this city, with smaller events, and a very good variety of genres and DJs.
As a side point to this, I love when people expect The Guv to book different DJs at Labour of Love every year, when Labour of Love is the biggest dance music event in Toronto of the year, meaning that there is a pool of probably less than 10 DJs that is going to make it the biggest event.
- Third, I agree that it looks like the scene in Toronto is about to get more interesting. Right in time for me to leave, lol.

agree with a lot of stuff being said here!
i think with the closing of sonic the scene lost a certain underground feeling to it, for me anyways
and as much as we did have it pretty good, i think the fall will bring many new and exiting things....

From my perspective living from the k-w area, I feel lucky to be able to drive an hour down the road and see world class dj's among some incredibly talented locals.
