davet is right. money/advertising does win it in the end just like the US elections but just not as serious im still going to vote to at least have my opinion counted

after this past weekend PvD really did it for me. favorite gig ever, more than daft punk and armin back in 04 at 1015.

yeah pvd at the vanguard in july was my favorite show this year-music wise at least. i've never seen any dj create so much energy, i was seriously stuck on the dancefloor every minute of his set. the man is a genius.

I liked his unfold album and set at EDC the best this year.

I did not vote for others since they were all crap, waste of money and time.

you are so damn right!!! j00f at EDC was best.. totally high energetic and the man was having fun!!! hehehe waste of money and time indeed for many!!!

It's too bad it isn't based on these things in the prior year alone

* gigs (consistent, quality, residencies)
* skill
* interaction with fans
* production or albums
* promotions (own events)
* contribution to dance music and culture
* innovation

I think overall this is how I would see it (these aren't my favorite djs at all)

in no particular order

* Daft Punk
* Chuck Love
* David Guetta
* Sander Van Doorn
* John 00 Fleming
* John Dahlback

there are a lot of others who should be acknowledged too

Alain, mine are based on some of your list along with DJs I've actually seen live in the past year. Theres a lot of good sets on the net from other DJs but I havent seen live at least not yet or I have and they just disappointed or not as good as the others I voted

edit: Daft Punk was amazing and all but it was too similar to the set I've been hearing for the past year and half from Coachella. Guess I watched the video way to much too
