also, readin up on this meth stuff makes me think of someone i used to once work with who was this really nice, normal guy (or at least he seemed) until one day i heard he got fired from the job bc someone caught him doin coke or meth at the workplace....a few months later i was walkin home from work and i ran into him ...he was just standin on the side walk, i think he was waiting for someone, and when i took a closer look at his face i was in shock....like this guy looked completely different from last time i saw him, he had these weird sores all over his face..and he was acting really paranoid he couldnt focus at all while i was talkin he kept lookin around..i thought it was so sad and shockin to see someone you knew goin from a perfectly normal person to that in a matter of a few months...
and i saw a coverage on cbc once on meth and it showed that meth has become the most problematic drug in north america bc of how cheap it is, yet long lasting and not very hard to make which is why certain over the counter meds and used in its production are startin to become harder to puchase over the counter

I'm actually surprised by how little I was actually shocked. lol I've seen "faces of meth" before, watched countless meth doc's on A&E, and I'm a regular "Intervention" watcher.

The story about the two teens lost in the snowstorm is very disturbing, and well... sad.

Thanks for the share, overall I thought it was "ok" done, tho there were a few one liners that had me scratching my head. And how many fucking times do they have to mention that "one hit will get you high for 6-12 hours". I swear to god you hear it over 20 times.

The documentary also taught me to how to smoke meth and that I could learn to make it relatively easily. lol Through both of those segments I wanted to smash the producers faces.

There was one meth documentary in particular on A&E (I think) that concentrated only on the meth labs and that one blew my mind.

Saw the doc a while ago. Found it interesting that asian meth (yaba) junkies use it to work 24/7 and can hold a job. Where as the american meth junkies go paranoid and crazy, terrorizing neighberhoods. At least according to this documentary.

Am not defending meth, never tried, nor do I want to try it. It is a known neurotoxin, nothing good can come of it. I just dislike sensetionalist articles/documentaries. Where are the statistics/scientific studies to proove that it really is the 'worst'? Heroin addicts look just as feeble, same goes for crack (freebase cocaine, not meth) addicts. Then there are alcoholics. I sure as hell know more alcoholics than meth addicts (dont know a single meth user). Obviously my ignorance does not make meth safer than alcohol, but this doc should be on Oprah. Just like other appeal to emotion pieces, as the "this is your brain on ecstasy" poster, and Oprah's piece on mdma draining spinal fluid.

Yay, I am ranting.

Kids stay in school, dont do drugs.

they are all just as bad...

heroin meth coke are hardcore though, wouldn't touch that shit..

CRACKDOWN ON CATS ON CRACK
PETE Doherty's pet cat has been found with traces of cocaine in its bloodstream after being taken in for observation by vets, say reports.
The Babyshambles star, left, owns a cat named Dinger, a slang word for syringe, which recently gave birth to a litter of five kittens.
One of the litter became ill and the singer was forced to take it into the vet for tests, where the drug was revealed.
An RSPCA spokesman told the Daily Star: ``It is a police matter, so we cannot deny or confirm the identity of the man who had this kitten removed. But it is very important to protect animals from substances that can do them serious harm.''

A pharmaceutical form of methamphetamine (dextro-methamphetamine: the right-hand isomer of methamphetamine bonded to hydrochloridehydrochloride) is indicated for treatment of Attention Deficit Disorder/Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADD/ADHD), narcolepsy, and exogenous obesity.

In the States it goes under the Brand name Desoxyn.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desoxyn
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metham...ine#Medical_use

It's Schedule II in the States so can be prescribed; however it seldom is due to it's high potential for abuse.

France I believe still prescribes it for such things as ADD/ADHD.

That is about all that I was shocked that they showed. As they stated "with leaving out a few of the steps on how it is actually made". Well duh, you don't think ppl are gonna pick it up easy enough. It always blows my mind. I have seen a couple of documentaries about this and they all mention how to make it and give the ingredients for it. lol just stupid!

I think they're betting on that the people who watch the documentary will not be too eager to pick up a meth habit after witnessing what it does to people. And those who would be interested in making a quick buck would be somewhat offput by the implications of easily blowing yourself up (if they weren't already by the fact that they would be engaging in a highly illegal practice). Those who want to make meth would find out how to do it anyway (the Internet is a wonderful place), so showing that meth can be produced easily without showing exactly how is a perfectly logical way of showing why it's become such an epidemic.

I've seen meth rip apart the lives of 4 people. i worked side by side with them fulltime. its one thing when u see a guy go from normal guy to fucked up dude. but to watch the transition 8 hours a day 2 years straight till the point they finally have their kids taken away from them, beat their wife with a hockey stick, their huses stripped from them and end up sleeping on bus benches from being a totaly normal, friendly guy in 1 1/2 years is something really fucked up. because of this expereince i witnessed i vowed never ever to touch another drug again. cept for a toke here and there of some of the finest ice.....mmmm meth...i mean weed

Its actually really noticible in Hamilton...
I go into the Shoppers there this summer, and there is a sign appologizing for the inconvenience...they were unable to sell certain products together... they explained it was because of the growing meth problem!!! ewwwww

As well, I went to a walk-in clinic and they had a sign theat specified that they DID NOT prescibed Any type of narcotic... this is not completely related, but at the same time illustrating the 'drug' problems in Hamilton..... I can't recall ever reading a sign like this in a walk-in clinic here in Toronto....

Really? They do in the Collingwood walk-in/after-hours clinic.

Says on a sign at the back wall that no form of narcotics are prescribed or kept on these premises.

I thoght that was a standard practice... the 'no narcostics' fact, but as well, the signs advertising that they dont either, too)

i live in thornhill in a pretty nice area and our shoppers has a meth watch sign on the doors, i think its more of a way to create awareness for people, to educate them of whats out there and make sure they make the right choices when faced with it

it is more than likely a standard practise, I guess I had just never noticed it anywhere else, and was more perceptive to it in Hamilton as I was aware of their growing problem
