If someone is hassling you, I will take them out for you. But yeah man. You're going to draw a bigger crowd on Thurs than a Wens. All good. Keep me posted.

Posted by spainj125 on Sep-20-2007 19:29:

Who in the hell is saying Wednesday?? I already have friends coming in to town that have taken off work Friday for this. I have taken off of work to. ASOT are you the promoter or something? Yeah it's common sense that a Thursday will bring a much bigger crowd....

Posted by spainj125 on Sep-20-2007 19:57:

Well if they are gonna be greedy little money grubbing b*tches why don't you just say fuck them and move it to another venue?

Posted by spainj125 on Sep-20-2007 20:06:

Damn that sux....I had lots of friends coming into town from all over for this show cause they could take Friday off and just take the 3 day weekend....The majority of them will probably not come now...

Posted by ZeeRobot1 on Sep-20-2007 20:11:

Its not for sure yet I was just giving a heads up that it might change.

Posted by DrewStylz on Sep-20-2007 23:02:

So you are just going to call up A & B and say. "Hey guys. By the way you have to change your entire iteniary because. well we really don't have a reason. Could you drop everything you are doing the prior days and switch your entire scehdule?" They're gonna be like fuck it. We'll go somewhere else and get paid. Tell the guy in charge of this to keep it on the 11th. That is absurb they would even change it. I know you're just the messenger man so Im not mad at you. But give a messege to your people. KEEP THE PARTY ON THE 11TH.

Posted by spainj125 on Sep-21-2007 03:53:

This is really a point that should not even be argued. Oh "more money" and "bigger events" are on the 11th, huh? How about character and staying true to your word and respecting these dj's time. You book into their busy schedule and they plan a day, keep it that way. To go switching around days on them so greedy little pockets can be filled is just a total lack of character, cut and dry, no bones about it. But then again, there are those who are only about the money and could care less about the scene and the music itself. Seems like this has fallen into the hands of those people so unfortunately....This kind of character does not go unnoticed by the EDM community. There have been quite a few promoters that have been burnt out just because of things like this...Don't believe me? Ask Devin from Liquified. It's shitty business...Lack of respect for both the dj's and the fans...

That IS pretty dang wank.

I understand it may be a matter of concern that the show is getting pushed forward a day, but Opera _is_ serious about dance music. Their recent bookings are proof of it. It was awesome that they were able to bring in Oscar G, even though it wasn't the most lucrative event for them. As far as how they do business, thats their issue-- anyone can bid on these DJs. Next time they may be more inclined to go with Liquified or something, but I doubt that would deter them from coming to Atlanta.

Posted by spainj125 on Sep-21-2007 19:33:

I really don't think they are serious about dance music at all....There have been 2 shows there - Ferry and Oscar G - since the entire opening. And the only reason they are letting them come is because it is a weekday and even then they are pushing them back to the beginning of the week...A&B pushed from Thurs to Wed and Armin on a Tuesday....If you are "serious" about dance music, you bring a big act on the weekend and expose them to everyone...No, it's because they don't have anything else going on during the week and damned Tuesday liquor sales sure would be nice now wouldn't they??

Opera is NOT serious about dance music! That's one reason Rachael is leaving. And to be honest... I'm glad Liquified moved their shows to WetBar. The vibe over there is INCREDIBLE!

I still <3 Opera in a way though.

edit and the date change means I can't go.

I totally agree... Ever since they opened the crowd they have been trying to cater to has shifted. E50 usually used to bring big Djs on the weekdays anyway before though that's still the same. The crowd at wetbar is definitely better though everyone is so much friendlier.
