No worries, he'll just keep giving up goals, then we won't have to see anyone from the team anymore, cause they'll be OUT. Honestly, Spanish teams need to step up and take back the Champions League. Pretty poor showing in last year's later stages, although Valencia went on a good run.

Posted by Intuition on Oct-24-2007 14:35:

The appeal brought it down to one, way to go UEFA!
Last thing we need is players being told that they can partake in simulation (especially in ridiculous circumstances like Dida's), and get a slap on the wrist and nothing else for it. On another note, Arsenal looked brilliant yesterday!

lol. you must have jinked valencia. losing 2-0 to lowly rosenborg

putos are scoring tons of goals, but letting in a lot too... very worrisome if you're a putos fan

barca... it's like watching dr jekyll and mr hyde. one game brilliant, others absolute terrible

Posted by Intuition on Oct-25-2007 14:25:

I know, Barca game was disappointing, and I got extremely pissed when in the last few minutes, they started passing it around like a draw was just fine by them. And Robinho finally turned it on in Madrid, I think that's the most effectively I've seen him play since joining the team. But very true, if they hadn't let in those weak goals, they wouldn't have had to mount that kind of comeback in the first place.

1-0 2nite suits me super.

Thon **** that tried to put brown out the game should get at least a 3 game ban.

fuckin hairy **** cheek.

Posted by noikeee on Nov-06-2007 23:30:

I heard Binya did an assassin tackle, haven't watched the game nor anything more than just the goal, though.

Fuck yeah, we won a very important match, now we're in great position to go through. Great goal by Tarik Sektioui. Postiga seems to be getting into good form again too, and Lisandro finally translated his killer instinct in the championship to the Champions League. Quaresma did nothing the entire game except for the wonderful cross to Lisandro's header that gave us the 2-1.

Liverpool-Besiktas --> 8-0?! That was simply random.

Valencia-Rosenborg -->

Remember that great game Portugal X Angola? Binya would fit right in on that squad. Fkn sod.

liverpool woke up for one game.

wtf is up with valencia?

Posted by Intuition on Nov-07-2007 15:23:

Yeah, they had a pretty much full squad too, so the only excuse they might be able to muster up is Koeman's entrance. But pretty sad if you ask me, they have a mountain to climb now. Excited to see what Barca will put on show after the kind of 'anti-football' Rangers played last game. Much respect to both team, Gers have faired a lot better in this group than I thought they would.

Another late goal winner for celtic

Shaktar got exactly what they deserved from the game with their time wasting and diving from the moment they got the early goal.

Can't wait till Milan next week. Hopefully the two teams will play out a 0-0 draw to see both of us thru.

Posted by rapfiend03 on Nov-29-2007 17:20:

hear hear

def agree that Shaktar got what they deserved, esp. with the trash they were talking before the game saying that the Milan and Benfica wins were lucky. yesterday was on one my best days in a long time, got good grades on a test, got my new mandolin in the mail so i can start learning, and the HOOPS won!

c'mon hoops! we can make it into the knockout rounds again!

Posted by rapfiend03 on Dec-04-2007 21:38:

YESSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!

Celtic are thru to the knockout rounds with 9 points!!!!!!!

celtic 0 - ac milan 1

benfica 2 - shaktar 1

Posted by chesco on Dec-04-2007 22:36:

I'm becoming an honorary benfica fan.

Lucky as fuck but who cares.

Thru to the last 16 and a cash windfall to follow.

Posted by nettwerk on Dec-04-2007 23:36:

So, Benfica is going to the UEFA Cup after all... better performance than last Saturday against Porto, at least, but that goddamn penalty... really unnecessary.

Meh. We won. Yipie.

So thats at least one Scottish team and at least three English ones. Possibly two Scottish ones (win/draw at home for gers) and four English ones (if Liverpool win).

Not bad possibly six British teams in the last sixteen eh? All in our own hands too.

Posted by fcuk on Dec-06-2007 05:31:

Don't get too greedy remember what happened last year. Three english teams out of the final four didn't end up winning. I'm not saying it will happen again but thats football for you.

since when are teams like ManU, Liverpool or Chelsea briish?

these teams only are on top of europe because of their foreign owners and players.

how many british teams are at the euro?

You could say that about almost all of the top teams in Europe though, who on average, will never start more than 4 players from the country they plan in. Roma, AC Milan, and Valencia are the exceptions, playing a minimum of 6 starters from Italy and Spain respectively, but none of them are considered among the top 5 challengers this time around. But who knows, Milan won last year. The point is you can't accuse just English teams of this type of foreign investment.

But to your last question, and I say this as a Brit, that yes, English players need to pick up they style and their attitude if they want to make an impact in 2010.

Since their inception.

None this year.... but remember who invented the game and be glad we did!!!

Who plays any German sports????

We have football, golf, rugby and so on and so forth.

Any other neutral fans excited for Liverpool vs. Marseilles and Lyon vs. Rangers? A wonderful week for football.

Posted by Dervish on Dec-11-2007 03:01:

Gonna be watching Rangers Vs Lyon, I'm an Aberdeen Fan (hope we jam our way through to the UEFA Cup Knockout Stages) but Rangers being Scottish will hope they win.

Going to be a seriously tough night for the gers though. Could really use the Darsh Destroyer.

I was excited for Liverpool-Marseilles, but it would have been better if Marseilles made it somewhat of game

Marseilles should take solace that they didn't lose 8-0

Posted by noikeee on Dec-11-2007 21:37:

We qualified and won the group.

Posted by Intuition on Dec-11-2007 22:02:

Highly satisfying matchday for me, watching Liverpool drub Marseilles on my TV and Real tear apart Lazio on my laptop. 8 goals in all, not bad! El Nio Torres scored a great goal, and Robinho had 2 assists and a goal just in the first half before getting subbed off, so both MoM for their respective games imo.
