And the all-time high against the U.S. dollar? That was on July 11, 1864, when it surged to $2.78.

last time that happened was in the 70's when interest rates were like 17%.

yeah, I remember a prof mentioning those high rates. Wasn't that when the Royal Bank used to break peoples arms and legs?

Ya, totally.

I heard if you skipped on your bills they'd call you all night long or send guys to yell at you in the street, or maybe they just paid hobos, who knows.

Canadian shoppers only have a day or two left until the CDN will now be at par with the USD. Best bet, cut school and work and go shopping.

Guess we wont be getting any good prices after all on anything *sigh* I guess I got to go out and get the PS3.

Nov 7th it was 1 CDN = 1.10 USD
Nov 12 it is currently at 1 CDN = 1.04 USD

hmm no.

came back from New York, crazy crazy prices, i couldn't believe it, sometimes its half our prices in USD and only 4% tax. My wife went nuts hehehe, she bought alot of stuff for really cheap. pumas for 40-50$, adidas for the same price range, lacoste polos were sold at 55$, etc etc.

Its worth it.

I am buying US goods naked in the comfort of my own home online. Anyone want pics?

If you can't make it across the border and you figure that's it for the rising dollar, just buy US dollars right away for now, no?

Posted by Spin Laden on Nov-12-2007 21:58:

another way to cash in is buy US dollars now and go shopping Dec or Jan (either in person or online) as that's when retailers reduce prices and start to clear out winter stock too.
