This thread reminds me of the "ghetto dude" thread...
It sucks that you were wrongly accused. And you probably will get something if you bitch out the manager or right a letter to front office.
But are we a society of people who are so sensative that we can't forgive someone else's dumb ass mistake. I'd go back to chat and just express my feelings that they should not be so quick to accuse their customers, and see if they acknowledge their error and apologize.
Either way, I'll be fishing this thread for an update later in the week
I missed this thread...
I also used to manage a dep't at a large retailer, and yes employees should never accuse anyone of shoplifting until they are out of the store. What was said previouosly about lawsuits is entirely true.
Your action depends on what kind of store it is. If it's a large chain, you have leverage, if it's a mom&pop grocery store, then at least you and everyone here learned something.
may i suggest

Loss prevention is only supposed to accuse customers of stealing once the leave the checkout area. It ridiculous to accuse someone of stealing before they have actually done the deed. You should write a letter or email head office and the store manager. |
after you write the letter and get no response. picket out side the door in the mornings with signs.
This thread reminds me of this clip.
Basically they purposely set off the theft alarm in some store and try to get security to run after them.
Here's another one just for some humour.

His other ones are hilarious too, knock on someone's door and see how long you can keep them there before they close it.
Or urban rodeo, basically you hop on a random big guy, and see how long you can stay on while he tries to knock you off lol.
Neg seems to be missing more than a few braincells, but I suppose that's normal for an Australian.
