look mate, you're wrong. it IS the same type of game, as i tried to explain to you. the fact that you think its hard to classify shows a sincere lack of understanding or experience. its a DM game, just slow and shit.

It was the idea of a comparison between Halo and Quake that I was objecting too, clearly stating that if you meant to say you only like games like Quake than that was fine. Instead you reacted defensively like this to a post that didnt wasnt calling for a release of rage.

as above. also, its not a release of rage, its just an intolerance for fools.

quote:

Sigh. I said it bends more towards tactical shooters. As opposed to trying to be a DM-type game. I didnt try to say it was realistic, nor extremely tactical.

and again, youre wrong. it is a DM game, pure and simple.

quote:

Wow, a real bastion of power for the PC FPS gaming you are. Flammatory and a generalisation imposing prick. Nice.

shall i get you some tissues?

By the way, Im not a kid and clearly show a higher mind and maturity than yourself, reacting in such a way to a singular un-provocative post.

don't confuse having little tolerance for fools with a lack of maturity, fool.

you fucking tool. any decent quake player would rape any halo player any day of the week. dont parade your ignorance. halo is a fanboy game, pure and simple. had it been a PC title it would have failed simply coz we have many better shooters already available.

Posted by biznology on Sep-25-2007 23:43:

sorry PKC, but my PC sucks, and i dont have a 360 nor a ps3, but you are a PC fanboy, as much as you talk shit- you fall into all of the same traps. every game has its issues. if the console fanboys could tear themselves away from their mountain dew, they might tell you how CS or TF2 or something isnt user friendly.

basically halo may be stupid, but then again PC isnt for everyone either. i have neither, and i might be more at peace than anyone else. its sucks not having money.

nearly ANY game has a reason to be played. not by everyone, but many can appreciate. halo 3 will disappear in a week or so, not to those whom play it, but to the forum. i think you can last that long|

Posted by Sunsnail on Sep-25-2007 23:55:

Halo is an "ok" game. It's not the kind of game where I'd play for a while and then stop because it just sucks too much. It doesn't deserve the hype though.

Posted by spc on Sep-26-2007 00:05:

i'm not really a fan of console shooters that much but i managed to play this at my friends house earlier today. i was disappointed with halo 3 as i expected (halo 1 & 2 were also overrated and overhyped games imo). in regards to xbox 360 games, i enjoyed gears of war and bioshock much more than halo 3.

i love ALL gaming systems, have owned my fair share of them and see them for their strengths and weaknesses alike. the only reason i sound like a fanboy is coz the console fanboys piss the fuck out of me with their pointless arguments over system specs etc.

but none of that changes the fact that halo is famous because its a console game, and that reason alone.

there are plenty of games on consoles that i respect or indeed love halo just isnt one of them. and when you see dicks coming in here with no knowledge then yeah, it pisses me off.

im intolerant cvnt, what can i say?

Halo was just made to appeal to the broadest base possible - and like anything that's designed to pander (pop music, romantic comedies, books by Dan Brown and John Grisham, Tiesto, etc.), it just isn't going to satisfy people looking for any deeper experience than one would find at their local kiddie pool.

yeah those game developers don't want to make high budget games for a narrow group of players, selfish bastards!

Ok, so in your mind all we should have to listen to is Britney Spears, Armin, and 50 Cent, we should only read novels that take about a day to finish, and everyone should just be enamored that Dane Cook and Jessica Simpson are making another movie together.

The world you want to live in sounds awesome!

...

Someone shoot me now.

Posted by stren on Sep-26-2007 15:22:

i'm just saying that game developers want to make a profit, when they are spending so much money making a game.

and its not the world I want to live in, come on.

Posted by RJT on Sep-26-2007 15:23:

And no one has ever made a profit without pandering to the majority?

And aren't they just the tops for having that attitude!

Fucks sake - just no care for integrity at all, huh?

Edit: And does anyone else find it funny that it's an American arguing against homogenization and capitalism here?

Sorry, I meant just this part

It's a video game man, how deep can someone get

Don't know if you mean depth in game play or depth emotionally. I figured you meant emotionally and that's why I laughed

Lots of people talk about the depth of games - and Halo is one shallow, shallow series of games.

Ok...when you said "deep experience" I had something else in mind. Carry on!

BTW, when I get my 360 can we play halo 3 on live?

Posted by RJT on Sep-26-2007 17:17:

Sure thing, buddy.
