I might be wrong, so please correct me if I am...but I remember how you always bitch and moan about people being assholes to other people in the forums...so, wouldn't this count as being a total asshole with another poster?

Thus far, SuperMayer Saves the World is in my number one spot...a beautiful compilation of bizaare, creative and just plain 'ol fun tracks. Looks like team Kompakt scores again (but what else is new?).

Can't blame him when he is right, however. I made the same remark on another poster, no one said anything.

Silent Alarm was better, but A Weekend In The City is also very good. I Still Remember is probably my favorite track this year.

A Weekend In The City has a broader palette of sounds and shows more diversity, while Silent Alarm sounds a lot more raw, a thing which itself can be appealing.

For the third time, this thread is about albums not mix CDs.
I can honestly say I haven't really been thrilled by many of the aforementioned albums. I'd agree most of all with stevesto, though I didn't like Chromophobia as much as the overall hype did. Ex Machina did sound incredibly same-y the whole way through, which was a disappointment.
Ulrich's Goodbye and Air's Pocket Symphony have got to be the tops for me out of what has already been released. Simply gorgeous all the way through both of those.
The one thing that has disappointed me with a vast majority of the albums out is that there isn't much diversity in them. They'll mostly be one type of track with maybe one or two different styled tracks here and there. It's nice to hear the artist branch out and try different things instead of sticking with the safe-and-sane tunes that s/he/they are known for.
I'm most excited for the Underworld album (and fighting hard to wait for my copy to arrive in the mail instead of downloading it first), as I love everything from the album I've heard, and the diversity of what I have heard is incredible.

I find it pretty great, but it's been getting iffy reviews.
I suppose people are comparing it to the atmosphere created by Far Away Trains Passing By and A Strangely Isolated Place, and it's not quite the same. For me, the first two were a sort of a gaze into the mystical and sophisticated unknown, but Goodbye feels a little bit more simplistic in its patterns.

True, the third album was quite simplistic IMO. The sound was great but the melodies sometimes seemed generic and without direction. If only he could use his sublime synth leads to create the emotional melodies of the previous albums...
Unfortunately i don't have any favorite EDM albums for 2007, but as far as non-EDM goes things were great...:
Port-Royal- Afraid to dance
Caspian- The four trees
Hammock- Raising your voice, trying to stop an echo
M83- Digital shades vol.1
David Helpling and Jon Jenkins- Treasure
God is an Astronaut- Far from refuge
