umm... logic is cheaper than cubase. also, once you factor in the cost of an audio interface, an mbox + protools is cheaper than a crap interface and cubase.

your oppinion fails, sorry buddy lol.

Yes, but his opinion fails because everyone knows that the ultimate setup is ejay rewired into reason rewired into pro tools.

Whoah! Rewired into Basshunter! Jeez no wonder your tracks sound better than mine! Are you really LordofBass in disguise!??? Or maybe just Tiesto?

This guy is a legend...No...he's LORD-OF-BASS...If I ever get signed I promise to dedicate a remix to LoB..I'll even call it the LoB Remix.

Posted by echosystm on Oct-18-2007 06:56:

people like lord of bass amaze me. do you ever look at guys like that and just wonder how they live? how they function in society?

rubez is another example. how many pages of replies did he get, telling him to gtfo? wouldn't you stop and think "gee. like... maybe i actually AM acting like a tard."

Posted by Storyteller on Oct-18-2007 08:24:

No. This is the internet. Fuck everyone!!!

Posted by kitphillips on Oct-18-2007 08:32:

I actually feel sorry for those people... I'm going to put lord of bass' apparent stupidity down to a poor command of the english language, he maybe just didn't understand what was going on that well and maybe we misunderstood some things he said. Maybe he didn't mean to be so hilariously arrogant, I don't know. I guess if I tried to conduct a complicated conversation in greek I might have the same problem.

As for Rubez.... I don't remember that well, but maybe he had some sort of internet Asbergers or something.... It's certainly wierd to get agressive like he did, although I can understand when people get hurt when they ask a question and people flame them around here. I guess I'm inclined to be charitable.

Who gives a shit, at the end of the day, all that counts is if it sounds like you wanted it to, no matter how you get there.

Personally, Reason re-wired into Cubase is the ideal combo for me although, the new Reason w/ the Arpeggiator and Thor is pretty much capable of being a stand-alone DAW if you know it inside out.

All of the top producers use FastTracker rewired into my left nut. (You can just imagine how long the wires have to be)

USB has problems over long distances, so it's generally MIDI. Some of the more advanced producers like BT will route the output over ADAT, so there's not much output latency, but of course there's still a 528 million clock cycle delay to the MIDI In. More if the nut is under heavy load at the time.

The right nut houses various utility functions such as SMPTE and Word Clock. It's only needed when producers using less-advanced sequencers than FastTracker have problems synchronizing to the left nut.
