blah blah blah

I believe current theory already explains that something can come from nothing. I thought this theory was QED (Quantum electrodynamics). But apparently not, according to wikipedia anyway. Basically, in this theory space isnt nothingness. Infact, nothing doesnt exist. Space is full of activity in which matter and anti-matter are created outof nothing, borrowing energy from anything they can and then paying it back once the two particles annihilate eachother. Wierd thing is, they can borrow enegy even when there isnt anything there, leading to the hypothisis that perhaps they are borrowing from another universe parrallel to ours, which I personally find impossible to comprehend but there ya go. It's also possible that this process is slowly killing blackholes as the proccess borrows energy from the blackhole, but than one of the two particles is sucked in before annihilating, resulting in the black hole not receiving that energy back. Its all very complicated and I've probably got it all wrong but whatever trevor, random info ftw.

The last bit is about Hawking Radiation, which talks about the evaporation of black holes. A particle antiparticle pair form close to the event horizon due to vacuum fluctuations. One bit escapes, the other is taken back into the black hole. Over billions of years, the black hole evaporates in this way.

Out of curiosity what made the universe ???

Our imagination and thoughts.

Ya, he won an award for it too. That guy is amazing.

In my opinion, a super intelligence, obviously supernatural and outside space and time as we know it, created the universe and fine tuned the physics of it as if constructing the hardware of a computer and all the software inside of it. I always was interested in how scientists have theorized alternative realities, outside of our space and time "container". Quantum physics is where the deep DEEP stuff is at...

I always viewed the universe mystically, amazed at the sheer grandiosity with the physical laws, and how those laws could have as a by-product intelligence life that comprehends its own existence and QUESTIONS IT!! It doesn't get anymore mystical than that..

Posted by eROs.au on Oct-17-2007 02:17:

That obviously beckons the question, "what created the supernatural being" then.

Posted by Halcyon+On+On on Oct-17-2007 02:23:

It's kind of like that song that starts with I know an old lady who swallowed a fly..., right? Or whatever that old children's song from the sea is.

Well, for if there is no beginning or end, then nothing..

Religion has tried to explain who the "super-intelligence is for thousands upon thousands of years.

It seems to me, and this is only my personal opinion, that humans have believed in alternative realities ever since they gazed upon the stars and wondered what it all was and most importantly, why.. That is why the we have civilization after civilization believing in life after death, where all the questions of existence are answered once and for all.

I believe that the real answer to the essence of the universe lies outside of the universe, somewhere physical science can never go, into the supernatural, outside of space and time, and all the unique physical laws of our "container". The answer to the universe is in another reality. Call it heaven, hell, paradise, m branes, multiverses, enlightenment, bliss, but its out there. Far far out there...

No, I first thought he said, "What is the super-intelligence?" But he really said, "What CREATED the super-intelligence?"

Well even God can make mistakes. Take Afterhrsgurl and Ann Coulter, for example.

Yea, see I'm not God. I hate Ann Coulter and I am agnostic, though a mystical one. So if your trying to label me a Christian, try again...

Actually, I was making fun of God more than anything. More specifically, I was making fun of the notion people seem to harbour where the 'reality' of things (because there is only 1 unifying perspective to some people)is fabricated by one judgmental entity who observes how each individual reacts to the reality He has established, then either rewards or punishes them from there. All the while operating under the illusion that His great gift to us was free will. Monotono-theism, anybody?

I don't know where you're getting the whole Xtianity thing from though.
