Way better than PVD??? Riiiiiight.

Since this poll is all about popularity, I really was expecting Tiesto to get the top spot again. His Elements of Life tour was a huge success. He was selling out stadiums...not clubs!! It's always goign to be one of the three: Armin, PVD, or Tiesto. Next year or the year after that Tiesto will probably get it.

yea for sure
but pvd said he didnt like to whore himself out like with every time he went to a city he told thme he dont wanna be known as the number 1 dj
lets hope armin does the same if hes number 1
and theres a post on the main forum from mixmag sayin that list is a fake
so who knows

you just lost all credibility in my book

see now that's just messed up.....it's about personal taste in music. if it didn't exist then everybody would love the same friggin dj and this scene would be very boring and lame. just because somebody likes markus over richie shouldn't mean they have no clue what they are talking about......makus is a great dj and so is richie......but you are comparing apples to oranges. lets face it......the trance/progressive scene is much bigger than the minimal/techno scene so there is your answer......

edit: I said this before and I'll say it again. I think you should have to pass a credibility test before you can vote for the DJ mag contest.....like answer some questions that have to do with the artist you picked or something. I bet half of the people that voted for Armin couldn't even name five tracks he produced......

Posted by Konijn on Oct-24-2007 15:44:

i'm glad armin won it -- maybe now that his mimicry of tiesto has finally paid off, he can exhale and stop trying so hard.

it's been around 3 years since i last attended an armin gig, but for his fans' sake i hope he treats the award with the nonchalance of pvd rather than the shamelessness of the tiesto camp.

Well Richie is your fav (I think) and Markus is her's and it's obvious neither of you are going to budge on the decision of who is your fav so just agree to disagree

All I know is Ferry needs to get some love sometime. I think next year my vote will look like this.

1. Ferry Corsten
2. Ferry Corsten
3. Ferry Corsten
4. Ferry Corsten
5. Ferry Corsten

werd lol
pvd dont care
but armin said one of his goals was to be the number 1 dj
but its tuff cause once ur at the top
theres only one place to go and thats back down and i bet no one wants that
but yea i just hope he continues to do what hes doing
but i agree with wai 2006 was a better music and dj year for armin
for the better half of 2007 hes been whoreing out the same songs like tiesto did in 03-05

+10000

you are completely right. The list is made, really, because of popularity. So does that mean that the 5 billion people who worship the trance DJ's are wrong? No. just preference. It makes sense why Armin and Tiesto are up there if you think about it, because wayyy more people know wbout them and come out to see them.

And personally I wouldnt complain. I would love it if very few people knew ferry and I had room to dance, but such is life. he/they are popular for a reason.

On the topic of armin, Wai is right: he was 100% on top of his game last year and should have won it then. This year he is mehh....except for labour of love.....wow.

PVD is like Michael Jordan, he doesnt have to be number one every year... to quote jordan when he retired "I have nothing else to prove", same goes for PVD.

I don't understand why people fall for it every year. I'm surprised this was the only one too, I think there were like 10 last year.

You are a true tool box! You obviously have NO IDEA what you are talking about!

Posted by Chicago29 on Oct-24-2007 16:55:

My personal opinion:

Congrats to Armin (if indeed he won). Great ASOT show, great charisma, done a ton for the scene for MANY years. It was in order.

Also congrats to Markus and Above & Beyond for the climb and doing great things for the scene.

I personally think this poll means nothing, but Armin & Markus will be here in Chicago on the 26th...can you say party?!

some people already have the issue -- one guy in the md forum even posted pictures of the accompanying articles, not to mention that radio 538 in holland confirmed, and congratulated, the armin victory earlier today.

So Dj Mag is now a lifetime achievement award??

Looks like the list is real.

Looks like Dj Mag is stupid for crying like babies about CL and Dan and how the list was "fake".

I am damn glad I didn't vote this year and I hope more and more ppl do the same.

Got a link to those pics? I wouldn't be surprised if the radio station fell for the fake poll results either.

Posted by massivenyc on Oct-24-2007 17:09:

This list does nothing but jack up the fees for the artists, agents while the voting was going on would tell you they have a pre and post dj mag poll fee schedule for their artists.
