Really contradicting yourself, wouldn't you say?

You responded to the person that went off on why one is not supposed to go to MM year in and year out, by telling him to say something constructive and not negative. You then go on to say that their are negatives. In the case of Monster Massive, the negatives ALWAYS outweigh the positives!!!

for reals, you just gotta look past all the negative. cause overall the djs threw down and if you paid at least paid attention to the music youd have an awesome time.

Yeah, just keep trying to look past the negatives year after year while continously spending $60-$75 for a piss poor event. I did MM from 2004-2006 and after last year I promised myself that I would never attend another MM because I did exactly what you said; I gave my full attention to every DJ that I wanted to see but that's near impossible to enjoy while 15 year olds are all around sitting on the floor. And, when they're not on the floor, they bumrush to the front like fucking little mice trying to find cheese and they don't care about their sweaty bodies or their adolescent minds getting in the way of others. These crowds absolutely KILL the enjoyable atmosphere.

Like a bunch of us said weeks prior to Monster Massive: Don't waste your money on this crap event! However, nobody chooses to listen and I'm especially surprised to all the people that are over 21 years old that attended Monster Massive over two other great nights in Hollywood. Please explain to me how you could choose Kiddies on Crap Massive over Eric Prydz. Those drugs must've been real good for you guys!

I pretty much agree with what's been said before.

The sets were good, especially Amrin's Opening track - Big Sky ( John O'Callahan). Markus put up some good stuff too especially that remix of As the Rush Comes which is always a classic.

The heat was something I really didn't anticipate. I felt like I was inside of an incubator. And as far as the overcrowding, I think we all knew what we were getting into with a Halloween event that was open to all ages.

I just really wish that the kids these days would learn some etiquette. You go to a 21+ or even 18+ event and there's a just an understanding of how to behave at these types of events. I couldn't tell you how many times I felt like schooling some of these 16 yr olds about how not to stiff arm or push over people just to get another 5 ft closer to the stage.

Aside from that I think Monster was ok. This wasn't going to be like Giant Village 21+ so I really hestitate to judge the crowd on that level.

I do have a video I took of Armin spinning Big Sky, and I'll post that up when I get home from work...

I detect a disturbance in the force.....

Wow what mixed reviews...

I liked what the one dude said that he learned from his mistakes from the previous years, and showed up early, bought the waters in advance etc.. etc..

Each night is what you make of it, I'm glad the people that had fun had fun... and for those who didn't' ... we'll you can join my club of "Never going to MM again because of the under 18 kids"

Peace and Chicken Grease

first and last monster.
highlight of my night was talking to steve angello before he went on the decks.
the heat inside was unbearable i don't even recall how many people i stepped on or kicked while trying to walk.
all these 14 year olds dressed like s**** .....how parents let them go out like that i have no idea.

Posted by DizkokidD on Oct-29-2007 16:16:

im glad i didnt go. The last MM I went to was Judge jules and PVD. That was like the end of MM all together. The quality of the setup has been sucking along with other massives. Best now are the clubs since the big name dj's play for longer hours and its cheaper..

I'd never thought I'd say this but. + 1 for the clubs

Ok, even with all my little nitpicks aside, (YES, getting a warm water from a VIP bar is unacceptable... especially when I lay down the extra $40 for a ticket plus a $10 tip for getting me said lousy water.) I could almost look past it accept for two things.
When I go to an EDM show, I go to listen to music and rock out... plain and simple. When those two things are impossible, then whats the point? I don't know where the folks who said the sound was great were sitting, but I honestly couldn't hear a damn thing. I would catch little bits of a song here and there and be like "Oh... THATS what he's playing", but overall it was just a low frequency bump. Furthermore, with the vibe as bad as it was, I couldn't dance for two minutes without tripping over some etards or being pushed out of the way by some sweaty jerk shoving his way to the front. Music and dance... thats what it's all about for me and both were impossible... Maybe I'm just picky... and maybe I'm missing the REAL point of EDM shows, which is apparently to take too much ecstasy and lay on a filthy concrete floor. It was cool to see once, but never again.

(Just my additional bitter 2 cents. Really, I think I would have at least been able to have a decent time if I could hear the music!)

I have more, just not posting them atm.

It was a great show. Second massive, first one in LA. Loved Markus Schulz, Armin, Judge Jules, the whole thing was great.

Ended up being split fro the people I came with and partied with a totally different group of people I met while giving a lightshow to them. Fan-f**king-tastic time. Big shout-out to them!

A video someone made that shows kinda what it was like:

First off... I live in SD... and just saw Eric... in fact talked with him during the night prior... so that's why I chose MM.

Generally speaking... a massive set is more energy ridden than a club set... club sets tend to be more melodic and progressive. So it really just depends on who you are looking for and what kind of mentality you go into an event having. For me... I don't have to be in the front to enjoy a set... music is music and travels distances without great change (at least auditory distances). So I sat in the stands and listened to DJs I wanted to see spin energetic sets and listened and rocked out my own way.

Now... as for the constructive comment I made earlier. Pretty simple: You would have to be a fool to think everything is going to be great for the entire time at any event you go to. For every positive there is some sort of negative, and it boils down to allowing yourself to overcome those negatives. When I read the post... it felt more like a flaming of the thread than anything constructive about the event. So really... no... they aren't contradictory statements.

A vid I got of Armin spinning big sky... Of course the tube messed the sound quality up a bit..

Not everyone has the same taste in music.

How many more years till people stop complaining about kids at kiddy raves? 10? 15?

I mean what the fuck are you guys expecting?

goddamn to many kiddies there. 18+ from now on. cuz the majortiy of these kids have no idea who any of the djs, they just want a place to get fucked up. thats just rediculous.

Armin set:
John O'Callaghan ft Audrey Gallagher - Big Sky
Tranquility Base - Buzz
Then i heard him play, Breakfast- The Horizon but idk if it was third. Thats all i can remember.

But i thought it was epic when he dropped adaigo for strings.

Axwell and Angello threw down. wayyy legit.

Overall the dj's spun good sets but the amount of people and kids killed.
the line up was not anything spectacular anyways imo. dont all you guys just go to these massives to get fucked up and have fun with friends, that why i go. if it was choice about the music i def wouldve gone some place else. everyone complaining about push, you all know this happens every year, its part of it, who cares, just have fun.

Couldn't fucking work today, listened to ASOT 323 and it brought me back to the fucking night!!

I seriously wonder how long it's gonna take me to get over it. I loved Armin's set so much!

Anyone have TRACKLIST? I wanna burn CD with his set and listen to it, having flashbacks, cause it's hard to remember every moment

Oh and if anyone spotted the kid with blue flashing earrings and light up shades, I was also on friend's shoulders for a few times, crowd spraying everyone (with 2 water bottles) toward the end. Was fucking good

I think the kids are kind of getting a bit of a bad rap here. There were plenty of pushy people & puddle people who clearly weren't kids. And there were plenty of kids who were friendly to me (and I'm an old timer). People were plenty pushy at Nocturnal and that was 18+.

That said, there seemed to be a lot more puddles than at other recent massives I've been to. The Sports Arena has plenty of seating, use it. And the thing that bugged me the most is all the smokers on the dance floor. That's something you don't see much of in the clubs.

No one knows what version of Adagio Armin played?

Posted by Maka08 on Oct-30-2007 01:44:

does anyone have the tracklist for armin?

Kandy kids really dont bother me...they are harmless. At least good for a giggle. I dislike the folks that look like they're too tough to have a good time.

No professional photos of this event yet? Drew, you weren't there?
