Noone does the DJ's job better than him.

I'm listening his 07-28-02 Essential Mix now. Priceless...

That's one of the few sets where I immediately tried to track down nearly every track. I discovered a lot of new artists through that one... and it's still hot as hell.

Any sets in particular anyone can recommend?

See if you can track down his Club Redlight set from Paris... around 2003 I think. It was a really nice funky house set. Lost it on a reformated hard drive

Listening to this now, good stuff.

I just bought Miami the other day, my first Howells compilation... really timeless, sleek and sexy house sound. I got to go to the Arc closing party with him there, was awesome, I'll never forget him playing "Cascades of Colour" and lots of great deep house.

Mili Sefic opened for Danny when he was in Chicago, here's a link to the live set.

highly highly recommended. i've been listening to it nonstop lately, reliving that night.

that link requires you to register though. if anyone is looking for a direct link, Mili's got the set hosted on his site:

http://www.milisefic.com/mixes.htm

actually, there's 2 mixes on there from when he opened for Howells, one from 2006 and one from 2007. both are epic win. <3

Danny Howells - De Sade Milano 07-12-2006 is really good as well if you can stand an italian mc who's doing some voice overs (it's not that bad tbh and i hate that shit)

also his set from extrema festival this year was good, tho not as good as plazo del toros imo...

When you say epic win you usually mean "sexy as fuck" - so of course I'm checking it out.

Posted by TranceArmstrong on Nov-06-2007 05:09:

im gonna look for all of these sets mentioned

his EM from this year sure was awsome

Listening to the Mili Sefic warm-up set right now; it's fantastic, thanks for posting. I'm always wondering where the hell djs like this one or Luke Fair find this kind of house releases, I don't see it anywhere. Or maybe I'm looking at wrong places or do not search hard enough

Looking forward to the Howells at Mexico set, too.

Unfortunately, Mili will be moving back to Bosnia in a few weeks and not be playing in Chicago again until next Summer (and even then it's a maybe)

Mili is easily my favorite DJ from Chicago, and the nights that he and I have played together (particularly when he and I opened for FDV) have been some of the best nights of my life.

God bless Mili Sefic.

My favorite set of all time. Unfortunately I've lost my copy long ago to a hard drive death as well. If anyone has this I'd be very, very appreciative.

And I appreciate.

Yeah, it was a bummer - but he's got plenty of good reasons to move back to Bosnia, so even though it's a bummer to see him go, it's still always good to see your friend/someone you admire progress in their life, so it's one of those bittersweet kind of feelings.

All I know for sure is that some of the best music I've ever heard out at a club came from that kid - anyone who's into Howells would really do well to check him out.

i think i still have that on a CD that you gave to me years ago.

running to my car to check, brb.

edit // yup, still got it. CD looks like it's been through hell and back but it should rip okay.

edit #2 // i've only got "disc one" and it looks like the full set was longer than 60 min. i'll check to see if i've got the rest of it at home, but i'm pretty sure this is all i've got, unfortunately.

Bosnia is such a fucked up place to this day. I went to visit there along my trip to Podgorica last year. Just curious, did he ever mention why he was moving back? unless it was a family emergency, I can't imagine why anyone would want to move from a great city like Chicago to a war ridden country.

Oh and there's a message board there too so if you get banned from here, come find respite with me.

quite the upgrade from his previous site... even though it's way too Flash heavy, a pain in the ass to navigate, and i can't find the button to turn the sound off. grrr, why do people do that?! i do not appreciate his website designer.
