If remember I think it was 2 years ago that Steve Lawler>? (not sure)was playing at some club in Mexico and finsihed his set and then was forced by the owners (Mexico Mafia connections)to play encore. He treated and played and got the hell out of there.

I don't think the killer came back....if you watch the video closely you can see the people crowding around the body in the back before they all run away. As somebody said before.....they were probably running because the police were coming and are far more dangerous that the person who killed those people. Just imagine if you were there......wouldn't you wanna get the hell out of there before police stormed the place with weapons drawn and ready to take down suspects?

The dude on the far side could have been the shooter..Maybe he was clipped by the cops/security...

I do, but it all depends on Tae comping me. ROTFLLLLLLLLL. Actually, Ive had a bad back for the past week or so and will get an MRI soon to make sure its nothing serious. I will be back in action soon once I get better.

P.S. Im looking forward to a Steven Neill all-inclusive NYE party somewhere with the local TAs and usual heads. Fuck paying $100 to go to some cheesy club to hear some god awful DJ spin (DT, Tiesto, any other greedy DJ looking to rape ppl at the door on NYE). I say a Sunny Side Up NYE party is exactly what would make for a good NYE event imo. Either this or dinner. Cant go wrong with either of these man.

Reading a blog from Venezuela with many comments from people that were there.... Apparently, this happened at a Picotto party in the past year two, same exact scenario, same promoters.... Apparently, no media in Venezuela has even mentioned the incident...

One guy goes on to say Este es el reflejo del pas que tenemos: un pas sin ley - "this is a reflection of the country we have: a country without law"....

Another guy says, "Decir verdad ese ambiente que se vivio ayer luego de los tiros es el que se vive a diario en caracas venezuela. no creoq ue se permita hacer mas evento de este tipo donde deberia reinar la paz y el amor. que mielda!" - "To tell the truth, what happened at last night's event is what happens everyday in Caracas... But shit like that shouldn't happen at this such event, where it's all about love and peace!".....

And yet another person says, "Definitivamente la seguridad en Venezuela tiene un destino incierto. Una vez mas la desgracia invade al movimiento electronico de nuestro pais por culpa de irresponsables que nos hace dao a todos." - It's definitely the security in Venezuela that is so shaky... This is just ANOTHER disgrace to the electronic movement, thanks to more irresponsible promoters that ruin it all."

- "Yes it stinks, but it's understandable, considering this was one of the biggest drug fests I've seen in a while (lists all the drugs she saw being used and sold)... When you have a promoter telling the security directly to be lax with the drugs, I'm sure they were lax with the guns too."

I hope these statements help give you a view from people from their own country, and how they view things... Trust me, I'm not disagreeing with people because I'm a prick and like to, I just know that things aren't always what they seem to be in South America.

Anyway, it's sad that music that's supposed to bring people together, is the backdrop for such a horrific thing... All disagreement and debating and opinions aside, that must have been a nightmare, hope this leads to better things, like increased security, for future parties and clubbers...

I think that's a girl Steven......the reports from the VJ's friend that was standing in front of the shooter said a boy, a girl, and a man were killed......the person laying on the floor in the back looks like a girl.

I don't expect anything else of him or anyone else, but I have to agree it was pretty funny -- just pops below the decks like there's a trap door or somethin.

My friend who's from Caracas had this to say
quote:

I was born and raised in caracas (but now live in the u.s.) and things of this sort happen ALL THE TIME... just not at edm events. I must say that I'm quite shocked. There is no words to describe how horrible and sad this is. Thanks to some demented idiot who decided to shoot his gun and kill three people, no dj will ever want to go there again. As it is, a lot of music performers (of all types) refuse to go to the country. After this... I doubt anyone is going to want to play there. So, that guy was not only responsible for taking 3 lifes but for killing a country's music scene, which has been dying slowly.....

She told me violence similar to this is unfortunately a daily occurrence on the streets of Caracas, but that it is usually not present at dance events. She also said the promoters are entirely at fault for not enforcing strict security at such a huge event in such a bad area.

I agree with the person who said you can't condemn an entire continent just cause of a few bad apples, but you also have to understand that the DJ's touring in these countries spend all of their time there at these huge events -- that is their whole schedule. So the likelyhood of something like this happening around them skyrockets if you consider that. They also have managers and other people advising them, probably freaking out telling them not to go (and if they have a conscience, canceling gigs with unscrupulous promoters that allow shit like this to go down).
