My favorite might be the scene in Traffic where Javier and his partner are taken out to the desert and you think they're both going to get capped but only his partner does. First time I saw that I was like

Not sure what's with the dubbing on this one, but there's hardly any dialogue anyway:

There are so many scenes that come to mind, and most of the best aren't on Youtube. Ah well, I was in the mood for a few classics tonight, so I posted a few from my favorite movies at least.

some really great ones in here guys! (pulp fiction, esp).

i have to add this:

i couldn't find a clip of the exact scene - but the one where Father Merin comes in on the taxi, and the street is all greyed out w/ mist. really a great shot. i tried to find one w/ the music too - where regean's mother is walking down the street w/ the leaves blowing around her, but no such luck.

Space battle of Endor. Return Of The Jedi

This space battle is just straight badass. Had me a lot more enthused than that of the Lightsaber battle between Vader & Luke.

I'm saying it now. Wedge Antilles is the unsung hero of the original trilogy. This man never got any props for his work either, no medals, nothing! He was there for the Battle of Yavin, Hoth and Endor. He was the one that took down the AT-AT with the tow cable on Hoth (Not Skywalker) and he also played a huge part in taking down the newly rebuilt deathstar.

Anywho (sorry I'm a SW nerd), this clip is just of the space battle:

*chuckles*

"Nothing? Are you kidding? Page 73 - Johnson, Navin R.! I'm somebody now! Millions of people look at this book everyday! This is the kind of spontaneous publicity - your name in print - that makes people. I'm in print! Things are going to start happening to me now."

Two movies popped into my head when I saw this title

The Untouchables

The sound in that clip seems pitched higher than I remember it.

And that one makes me every time.

Dr. Strangelove

Sorry about it not being in English, but the blond girl is asking whether the chocomilk is too strong, and then starts babbling about how clumsy she is and stuff... it's from "Fucking Amal", and you can get the whole film on Youtube.

ugh, out of all the scenes from fucking ml, you choose that one. i usually really like rambly dialogue like that but that one is just unnecessary. although, agnes in that scene is great.

my favourite scenes from the film is agnes' suicide attempt when you hear albinoni's adagio in g minor in the background, elin & johans breakup & just because it's so rediiculase, the fight between elin & jesssica in the park.

final destination two when the sheet of glass falls on top of the kid & squashes him to death, or when the other one gets blown up by the BBQ at the end & his body parts land on his family as they're all sitting round a table outside.

That's the one I found on Youtube

However, it pretty much reminds me of what it feels like to be in love (specially when you're in your teens). You're often worried about how clumsy you are, and how you're still getting to know yourself (in that case Elin) — and Agnes doesn't even care, as she likes Elin the way she is. That scene is pretty much the whole film summarised in just one minute

But yeah, Agnes' frustrated suicide attempt is also moving.

Eh I couldn't find it on youtube, but the opening shot of the player. anyone who's scene it/ studied the film knows what i'm talking about.

Amazing movie, so well written and acted, and like nachos already mentioned, a real tear jerker.

Another amazing movie is City of God , was able to locate the link to one of my favorite scenes from the movie. It takes place in Brazil, if you haven't seen it yet, you're missing out.

I was not able to embed it because that option was removed.

About Saving Private Ryan, the initial cut given to the MPAA was given an X rating (due to the violence). An X Rating is horrible for a film feature as most cinemas will not screen X-rated movies at all. Speilberg went back and re-edited it, sent it for another review- Another X Rating. Speilberg protested privately and publicly about the merit of the film being put jeopardy by censoring the brutality. Unfortunately, Spielberg was eventually forced to re-cut the film to the MPAAs R-rating standard. It still turned out to be a prestige and masterful work, but to think that the MPAA would censor such beautiful art (and not an unfounded gore flick, ala Hostel 1,2,etc), gets me mad.

another scene from steven spielberg:

This clip shows that God was helping him. What are the odds that two perfectly functioning guns would malfunction at the same time!

My other favourite scene from this movie which i was unable to find on youtube, was when roberto was being lead off to be executed and his son was hiding in that box. How even in the face of death he makes some humor of it, to protect his son and imitates how the german officer is marching

Posted by Lebezniatnikov on Nov-14-2007 06:13:

I don't know how I forgot about this scene, but when I saw it in theaters, my chin was literally on the ground.
