Fucking comedy...
the cd is a load of balls. i mean why in the name of god why someone would want to mix trance that way is beyond me. trance fans like to feel the track build and breakdown and then feel that rush again.
listening to this would aggravate me as i hate when djs mix out too early. have to agree with the majority of people here. this cd is shit and the track selection isnt all that good. he could have made 2 18 track cds with quality tracks instead of squashing 40 odd average tracks in them.

Ofcourse i can take things personlly, first of all i feel offended on my own taste of music as i share myself in your so-called group of fuckwits who have all the tracks and also like armin van buuren as a dj.

but...). Personally, all I really want to know is what Armin's favorite tracks from 2007 were - like his personal top 20. Armin's mix cds are definitely NOT meant to sound like his live sets, but they are constructed well. Regardless of the track selection, it flows nicely. At least they have in the past (since ASOT 200 - very nice mix imo!).

I mean really, no one is going to change their opinion here...we've been down this road before. There will always be some excuse like "its good background/car music" or "you get to hear a nice summary of the best tracks of the year" or "its armin giving back to the fans"
well i can agree with that, there are different ways of listening to music, and different cd's are for different purposes i guess. Therefore i wouldnt see it as an excuse when people say its a nice cd for background and car listening... thats just what this cd is for and many many people just listen to music as background or as car music, not everyone is diehard trance/dance listener who wants tohear 4 minute build ups and all... try to place yourself in other people as well

(as I sometimes do with my closer friends lol).

Originally posted by Clovis People slam music I like all the time, but it doesn't bother me, I'm confident in my taste, and most of all, the individuality of it. People are not going to agree all the time...accept it, and be content that even though someone thinks you're a fuckwit for liking something, it should have no bearing whatsoever of what you deem is good or bad, because that is an entirely individual area, and no one can tell you what you like/dislike but yourself.

Originally posted by TheVrk I completely agree with this.... WHy WOULD you care if ppl bash u for liking something?? I mean geez, who cares? I like diff forms of music, and i do like Armin, but i also love Sasha, Desyn, and Matthew Dekay among others... Point is, i KNOW tons of ppl hate on me for enjoying Armin's music, but fuck, i'm 30 yrs old... Like i care if someone hates on me or anyone who likes Armin. FUck, as a HUGE fan of progressive and house i can even see why ppl would hate, but that doesnt affect me in ANY way... Accept it as is and FUCK IT Agree to disagree even, but don't whine and cry as u try to justify WHY u like any particular DJ...

free promotion! good stuff
I guess megamixes are great for people who complain that "TECHNO IS TOOO REPETITIVE!!!!! IT'S LIKE THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER AGAIN!!?!?!?!!?! HOW CAN YOU LISTEN TO IT?!??!?!?! LOL!!!!111 oneone oneone..."
But yeah, i can't stand them anymore either. Every once in a blue moon i guess it can be OK, but every freaking year is too much. Nor does it really do the all of your favourite tracks for the year much justice.
I dunno, maybe the idea IS to give people a quick snippet of each track, then go out and decide to get the full track accordingly.

listening to cd1 and must say it is amazing so far..
unbelievable mixes!!! WOWZERZ

I ditched trance in the beginning of the year. I would still like to know what's happening in the scene so this is perfect for me.
And I wouldn't drool over mixing since it was probably done in Ableton.
ofcourse its done in ableton but even then its a hell of a job... but i just downloaded it and its good stuff, nice for under the xmas tree :P
I think it's downright rad that an artist who has his own track on a mix CD has downloaded it illegally to listen to.
am downloading it wonderfull tracklist...

the introductions on these things just keep getting worse. Almost as bad as Sensation White narrations.
