I agree this is a pretty decent track. I think I like the weirdness mix the best, good job of incorporating just enough of the lyrics and keeping the tempo up. JS16 mix is bangin tho, he is a great producer.

Posted by skwallie on Dec-30-2007 00:21:

I'll be there for Lukaz tonight, but I'm out by the time Darude gets done.

Work's a calling at 7am tomorrow.

Posted by DaveT on Dec-30-2007 04:48:

I'll be at Ten as midnight approaches!!

Was gonna catch the 9:15 (or so) bus but because I don't want to have to really rush myself not gonna make it and catch the 10:15ish bus, which should drop me off near my work at 11:30ish where I need to drop clothes/etc off until I figure out where I'm gonna crash if not there and then I'll walk or cab it to 1015. Prob walk. (from 2nd & Folsom)

Dave

Darn it, I should have gone to Ten15 tonight. I'm sure Darude is bringing it on

lost my homemade flash difuser last night... but 2tall was kind enough to let me get one of his. sorry i didnt have any spare working batteries to help you out, darn generic brand crapped out on me again

pics: http://rizo.ws/071229

also those glasses were too

Posted by 2tall on Dec-31-2007 08:59:

hah! loved those glasses

great night! (from what i remember.. apparently i really made up for taking it light the last couple weeks). and without genre-splitting, i liked whatever the sound was carried through the whole night..

awesome energy from lukasz from the moment the main room opened! we were commenting on how much we were enjoying the set, and a few strangers were also asking who was playing, so i just pointed them to the CDs (otherwise, i don't know if they would have understood me saying "lukasz" in slurred speech, with a polish accent, in a loud club). another friend also mentioned to me today that they really liked the cd on their drive home.

darude was very good (at this point, i'm reallllyyy gone). sucks that he has to play against the sandstorm rep, and as much as i can joke about sandstorm, it was fun to hear that infamous riff finally come in.

also, i brought another not-a-clubber-type 1015-first-timer who had a great time. always feels good to introduce people to the music, experience, people, and venue.

rizo, more lessons learned for me... like bring spare batteries, bring extra diffuser (i've lost them before as well), and also periodically check that the lens is clean (as a huge smudge messed up many shots after 2am )

LUKASZ YOU ROCKED IT BRO, THE ENERGY YOU HAVE BRO IS AMAZING , LUUUUUKKKKKKAAAAAASZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Posted by DaveT on Dec-31-2007 21:10:

real good energy fron Lucasz, but thought the structure was choppy for the 70 minutes I heard of him...

When I first got there it sounded a bit poppish, almost commercially (hehe)...then it was a bit too banging (not in regards to the BPM, but just how banging the track is)...then the vocal tracks at the end...Time of our Lives!?!?!?!? (I am usually not a huge fan of openers playing huge/athemy tracks, especially right before he's about to finish! But maybe that's just me).

It was a fun set because it was a bit different than what you'd normally hear, but some adjustment is needed for longterm success as an opener for headliners! I heard Lucasz started off reallll fast...

Just trying to be constructive with the feedback. Don't have to listen. Wasn't a bad first-time. It was a real fun set. I would say you were totally successful. Just be open-minded with any feedback and PROGRESS yourself as an opener, which is a much harder job than most people think!

He did start off rather fast and a lot of the tracks were pretty banging from the start and end of his set, however the crowd loved it. And up into about 230 when I left the crowd was still jumping, even though I thought the crowd might tire out.

Lukaz, you did a great job and your energy behind the decks is just ace!

Notes Taken! I do appreciate the Constructive feedback because you its what I need to hear. Its always easy to say "amazing set" and then turn around and say to someone else that this and this needs some work. I love to hear people tell me what they thought I should do different. So Thank You! No Hard feelings!

Reallll fast? Tempo or my career? Tempo, 136, Didn't think that it was to fast when I started but I do agree that more around the 130-132 would be more fitting and then speed it up a notch to 134-136. The crowd needs time to warm up but I was so anxious that I just fed people my energy.

Career... Ive been a DJ for about 7 1/2 years now. But this was my first time opening up for a Headliner! I have opened up rooms for more known DJ's in the local community and such but this was the most amazing night of my DJ career! Thank You TAJ!

I would like to hear more about the "structure" that you would like to hear. Personally I like to give people music that makes you either dance or sing or just lose yourself into. I love to dance myself and when I go to see a DJ play thats what I look for. BUT... I am open to progressing in my style and really working on how to open up a main room for a big DJ. I will take more notes next time I see another DJ play and really listen to the difference.

Whats funny is that the tracks that I didnt play the bangin tracks that I wanted to. I had some Bryan Kearney for the crowd but I just held on to them.

Thank you for your feedback. I do look forward to learning from this.

CHEERS!!!
Lukasz

Thank you! Once again I agree about the track selection and in the future I am going to go a little more progressive.

All in all the crowds reaction was awesome, incredible, amazing! For myself, Darude, and Taj included! I never saw the room thin out and when I left around 4 or so... It was still packed and it seemed like they wanted MORE!!

Once again THANK YOU!!

I know the feeling. That happen the first time when Lexxx and I played for our first time.

Your energy is so great behind the decks that you can play at 130-132 and the crowd we'll feed off you.
