So yeah, I moved to SF last year after spending the past 10 years in LA working full-time as a Dance Music Producer. I made a lot of records with different people, and my main-stay was remixing.

In 2003 I hooked up with Pete Tong and had a couple singles signed to Whoop! in London- then started working with Baroque as the result of an extended stay in the UK.

I maintain residence in London and LA, but these days loving SF I am mostly working on Originals now, with a few remixes still charting on BillBoard throughout the 2007.

Currently working on a couple remixes and originals with Steve Smith (from Dirty Vegas), and getting a bunch of music ready for release in 2008 I am planning a slew of releases- so get ready

Also in 2008 I will be picking up the DJing quite a bit, time to get out of the studio for real....

Hope to meet many of you Jan 5th- I will be making a special tune for the night- for those of you that are familiam with my "at the end up" track

cheers

Damn quite impressive! Looking forward to hearing your set!

interesting...

and congrats again to taj for making the dream team, although i think last year's ranking was more fitting

I think I was the only person really loving Atimatik when he played at the Nitevibe DJ party last year...I dunno, I just really dug the crazy stuff he was playing while the rest of the room had a complete "I dunno if I should or shouldn't like this" look on their faces. lol.

It was certainly way different than what you usually hear at Ten.

Glad to hear at least you loved it. What can I say, I like to play crazy because after all isn't it a party? I think I definitely do have my own style for which I'm known for, unconventional, even despite having a residency at Aura in the East Bay. Although I have played in the Cirque Room downstairs and the VIP Room upstairs, that was the first time I played the main room at 1015 and was trying to showcase "my sound" as opposed to simply playing "what works".

Taj asked that I post my latest mix and so hear you go. This set was actually recorded LIVE at Ruby Skye on Friday Nov 16th 2007. It was my birthday and my set was at 12-1am. Having the crowd enjoy my set as much as they did was the best present I could ask for.

glad you liked it rizo, check out the holiday mix i put out about a week ago. smooth listening tech house which progresses into full blown trance, a little bit different from my usual style.

Ahh cool, I'm glad you posted this set. I was there that night and it was definitely really good. The hardest thing was trying to explain to people what your name was. A lot of people in the crowd wanted to know.

Cool! My name... like "automatic" but its aTIMatik since Tim is my first name... My friend and his GF came up with three pages of all these different names that incorporated my first name. Kinda silly idea but Atimatik was the one that stuck.

It works. The only place to recover from NYE is this night!

Oh sista! There was something happening last weekend but noooooooo, you stayed in. Muah! Happy New Year!

Posted by skwallie on Jan-03-2008 06:14:

Still unsure if I'll be making it this weekend. I may have to go in at 7am on Sunday. I tried leaving early last Saturday but that didn't happen and I ended up getting at most an 1 1/2 of sleep after driving everyone home. Not sure if that's worth 8 hours of work the next day.

Gil, are you recording sets this night?

Posted by rizo on Jan-03-2008 06:24:

well if Steve doesnt bring his recorder I'll try to bring my laptop... but Blurr is going to be out of town so I won't have a good sound card to borrow

Posted by Atimatik on Jan-03-2008 18:01:

I can see about maybe bringing in this 24-bit WAVE/MP3 Recorder if you guys want.

Awesome! Will you be taking pictures rizo?

Also, I have a small favor to ask, would anyone be willing to give me a ride from my hotel? Ill be staying at the staybridge suites by the san francisco airport, and I can pitch in for gas etc.

Posted by skwallie on Jan-05-2008 00:38:

i may have some things to do this night, but once it's confirmed i'll try to stop by first before heading off.
