I grabbed Cory's boob once, humped Lizando's leg a few times and I think I was also touching Steve.

I guess I'm in at BarRio for NYE. It'd be cool if I got to fckn spin.

Trance-wise...hmmm maybe. But that would ruin my life because over half of the jotz' in Houston hate trance, for one, and secondly, most openers if not all will usually play anything from progressive house to tech-house to electro.

At least I didn't play "Needs To Feel"

That is what your supposed to play when you open. if you ever get a chance to open and play big room chance more than likely that will be the last time you ever open also. It ook a while for it to go on me but it did. I still love trance but you have to open proper thats life and it is even in some of the big artist contracts about the opening dj. IE Tiesto opener can not play over 130 bpm in the contract. Paul vn dyk's contract says the opener CAN NOT BANG OUT must be a soft groovey set. that is word for word in his contract.

Unfortunately thats the way things are, we either accept them or dont open at all, let someone else play ambient for one hour and a half.

It shouldn't be that large. Did you compress it in 320? Compress it to 192...

I used to spin at Axis in Katy, before fckn Richard Simmons came over, molested the owner, and turned it into Bikini Beach. I can definitly mix progressive or house a WHOLE lot easier than trance. When it comes to trance, I start getting wet when the track has a minute left before I have to start shifting gears. I get too nervous and therefore shit on my own lap during the transition. Notice my prog mixes are alot smoother than trance mixes. I love trance, but as far as mixing it....LIVE in a big room events...just wont happen, even if they paid me thousands. I admit I suck at mixing trance.

As far as the rules, I knew things worked that way. I was conscience of that as soon as I went to my first gig. It would totally blow to hear some opener play trance, and then Armin comes up to play the same tracks. Hell, it was weird hearing Hybrid - F.Symphony (Deadmau5 Mix) being played by whoever was before Blake Jarrell, then Blake Jarrell again, then Armin for the third time.

I thought that was hilarious. At the same time I thought, "Has Beatport FINALLY ran out of tracks?"

mixing trance is cake if you can phrase match, anyone claiming trance is difficult to mix shouldn't be a dj because you clearly have no concept of one of the most basic, fundamental skills of the craft. they are the most uncomplicated, cookie-cutter songs of all time and you only need about 30 seconds of overlap between songs so you don't really need to be closer than maybe plus or minus 1.5% on your beatmatch either.

I learned on turntables and I agree with him. And I do prefer the sets he's posted to almost everyone else on this forum except maybe Lance and Enrique.
