my point is that it should be a big deal

hell, I consider it borderline criminal whenever a kid gets the short end of the stick because the 'parents' are fucked up and can't take care of their kids, and most teeners aren't fit, or mature enough to take care of kids

i don't think u quite understand what i'm saying here...first of all i never said teenage pregnancy in general wasn't a big deal...this case in particular isn't a big deal and it shouldn't be because what difference does it make in our lives...like really...the only reason you're discussing it is because she's known and it's Britney's sister

I would be just as outraged if it was an average teener. You're quite right that because it's britney's sis, this issue got attention

As for what difference does it make it our lives... well, once we ceased to give a damn about all the crap that goes in the world, humanity is doomed

hahaha right i'm sure if it was an average teenager there would be a whole thread on it and ummm...i really doubt that humanity is doomed because some of us ignore britney's teenage sister's pregnancy lol...im quite positive there's a lot more important issues going on in the world at the moment other than celebrity drama ...like wtf lol

you're right. if something happens to celebrity, then there is attention on the issue. but it's the issue I give a rat's ass about, not the celebrity

doesn't matter if it's an avg person or a celebrity.

there is totally some clear misunderstanding going on this thread

You can only parent so far. At the age of 16, you are more than old enough to realize the consequences of having sex. Parents are there to teach, nurture and guide, but not to live your life for you.

If you are the least bit coherent, you can figure out the equation:
egg + sperm = baby

I was told at the age of ten, and was able to understand. 'that thing between your legs is a penis, its for sex, and sex leads to babies".

Yes, it IS a big deal, enough that it got the attention of everyone who posted in this thread for starters and then some

Imagine Christmas dinner at Chez Spears? Essentially, she came from a relatively dysfunctional home.. parents (and kids) sometimes gotta pay the consequences even moreso if the folk(s) don't set an example and make guidelines, show some love, etc.

Rumour has it, her boyfriend is the father. I breathed a sigh of relief when I found out it wasn't K-Fed

i think its somewhat of an issue... cuz shes on some nickelodeon show for kids...

ensure that if I ever have kids, they don't make a bonehead mistake like this

or become the supreme world dictator and systematically slap the back of every teen that gets pregnant by choice

amen to that!

funny, how much more of an example does she need? Her big sis is now a single mom in an ugly custody battle and has the media glare to make things more difficult.

She shoulda gone on the pill or told her boy to cap it before tapping it

it should be a big deal. because teen pregnancy isn't normal

when did women have babies on average in past centuries?

wasnt it often older men in late 20s or 30s being married off to young women in their middle to late teens by theirs parents.

i gotta likely assume those marriages very often produced kids very quickly... bc contraceptives wouldnt have been used (unless you count the "pull out" method one...

so if we say teen pregnancy isnt normal... im not sure that accurate historically.

now... but whether or not i think teens of our days SHOULD be having babies based on their general ability to be able to properly provide for such an offspring (not even taking into account the detrimental effect it may have towards their lives, ie. preventing them from going to school (if they'd wanted to), or forcing them to drop out of, say, highschool)

This depends on culture and time period.

But generally, the nobility married earlier than commoners, simply they can afford it. The nobility had nursemaids/governess or other caregiver to take over a lot of maternal duties.

The commoners married later because depends on time period, the father's family paid a dowry, and often the dowry would have cost the household a lot, so it was more advantageous for the girl to stay home and help out.

But what was done in the past doesn't mean it's the correct way.

modern culture encourages people to pursue education, at least to high school level, to have the basis to be able to function well in society (at least that's the idea)

simply put, society hasn't evolved to the point that a teener can be a proper parent without requiring some sort of assistance from the society

if the unholy spawn is a female it's going to do both her mom and her aunt proud! by becoming an even crazier hell-spawn-slut and implode the spears name for certain in a drug overdose by the age 25. could you imagine trying to control the spawn of Spears? spoiled rotten by the age of 8, with a see-through 24 yr old mother?

i say send it to the nunery at birth

what happens if it's male? playboy?-- for sure. i want to be this male, if i should happen to die the night before she gives birth would this give me a shot at becoming this future play boy who will never have to grow up? i there are any experts on reincarnation out there......
