I like DVD quality better, plus I like adding to my collection.

Also, my DL limit for this month is already kinda flogged, so I gotta watch it

Season 3 bsgalactica sucks?

ARE YOU DRUNK???!

Sure its a lot deeper then the other seasons but its much better. It had a couple of flunk episode... but there were those in seasons 1 and 2 too. So what is BSgalactika razor about? I'm lost?

Yeah, I quite enjoyed season 3 as well, though not quite as much as the previous two seasons.

Razor is set on the night of the first Cylon attack on Caprica, but from the perspective of being on board the Battlestar Pegasus. I think. Still haven't seen it.

What's the release date for Oz PKC?

i never said "sucks". but yes, its definitely the weakest of the seasons.

too much character development, not enough narrative.

no idea when its released in oz sorry sushi.

It's on ebay, but only in region 1, and it's pretty expensive (about $30). Thankfully I have a backup DVD player that's multi-region, but it just means I can't watch it in surround sound Not sure if it'd be worth it...

!!!

I cannot have paying for a movie rental on my conscience. I used to work in the movie rental business. It's not worth supporting!

Well, he was talking about different movies...

But, I'm not sure if that makes a difference to your ex-movie-rental-business propaganda

Posted by Halcyon+On+On on Jan-08-2008 07:45:

Certainly not!

haha. yeah, but i have faith in sushi's taste in scifi, and i reckon he'll certainly get something out of it, even if the end bothered me. the part when it starts to get really scary was absolutely terrifically done, A+ for that

yeah, i just checked out getonce.com.au and only ezy have it listed, and it doesn't have a release yet.

pm me your details and ill send you a copy you have to promise to buy it when it sees an australian release if you like it though. i read an interview today which mentioned that the ratings on the scifi channel were ordinary, so im guessing the only reason its still around is through dvd sales.

at least we're getting that final season! its funny how people often criticise BSG or B5 as being inferior because they dont have 10 seasons each, but i think that's one of their strengths. every good story MUST have a final chapter.

oh, and the spin-off series, caprica, is kind've up in the air too

Of course you do. My taste in Sci-Fi is a thing of beauty!

yeah, but you have your limitations the first season of BSG was better in its ability to create the broader plot than firefly's was, which (pound for pound) makes it a better show that said, it was far better than B5s first season.

Hehe, ok sure. But shall we wager a bet on the difference in budgets between BSG and Firefly? Sure, Joss Whedon has a good name for TV series' but BSG is a re-creation of a classic. That equals big bucks.

Not only that, but Firefly was kinda pushing the envelope a bit, genre wise, with what Joss Whedon referred to as a "Space Western." I've never seen a space-themed Sci-Fi attempt that. Oddly, that said, after watching the 1st DVD of Firely, I really didn't like it. I didn't feel close to any of the characters, and the plot was...odd, to say the least. But by the 2nd DVD, I was hooked. I still can't think of any Sci-Fi characters that I like more.

Firefly WAS trying to create a wicked story arc though, though River I suppose, but they had to sort of 'amend' that when they got canned, and make a short story out of it with Serenity. I don't doubt that the longer (series version) would have been epic though

And yes, I agree that season 1 of B5 was a bit lame, because it lacked Sheridan. Sinclair was the 'jovial captain'.... Nobody wants that in a space station

EDIT!!! - Bruce Boxleitner was TRON

X-Files 2 coming out in later '08. Both Duchovny (sp?) and Gillian Anderson make their return... likely because they haven't done shit since the show ended.

except for duchovny, Californication kicks ass.

Bah, it'd be too obvious to be Starbuck imo. It could be anyone.

hahahahahahaha.... Both of them are shit. I do enjoy watching you trying to make a case for one of the movies though.

your capacity to judge fantasy popular culture is obviously lacking. there's a reason BSG got #1 tv series in time magazine. it has a tremendous and unique quality.

not my fault if you cant see that.

I wasn't talking about Starbuck or a regular character.

I doubt it... How could you possibly even know who it is? The only major clue they've given is that the character was seen on the Season 3 finale.
