Convenient for shoppers? yes. (I've used it and loved it)
For major retailers? BALLS

The CF card has a "universal" magnetic code that can be read by various computer systems to process transactions but the process gets sticky.
Sears just recently signed on to accept Cadillac Fairview as a form of payment and I can't count the number of times that this card has caused problems with our CSD system; it will often randomly freeze the computer, it doesn't enable the process of voiding, and if you are making a purchase that exceeds the amount on the card - the remaining balance can be paid ONLY in straight cash.

Advice: Carry cash when planning to use this card. Don't be scared when asked to sign for your purchase - it functions like a credit card with most CSD systems. KNOW your balance. (Unlike Sears gift cards ) the amount on your CF will begin to gradually depreciate after the initial purchase. There is a toll-free number to call on the back of the card - use it It saves a lot of time and hassle for everyone

Easy solution to all the madness.

Just be broke enough that you cannot go shopping.

I waited in line at the Bramalea Best Buy since 5:20am and there was literally 200-300 people in line before I got there, first time ever doing that and only because I really need to get a new digi camera. Spent the rest of the day at Square One and although it was really packed my gf and I were able to pick up some things and prolly saved approx. $500 yesterday on all the things we bought and that's including the camera I bought in the morning.

Can you believe that I was there at 6AM and never even bought a WD 500GB Internal Sata HD for 99.99.. I should have my head examined. Biggest regret of the year (I can say that since the year is pretty much done).

Aww, don't feel bad, sport, I'm sure you can get right back in the saddle of doing things you'll regret. 2 days is a lot of time!
