You're quite right (but so is Nik). I would gladly settle for a new 2 Bit Pie album (actually, I'd make quite a mess if such a thing was announced). In fact, anything related to Fluke in some way.

i expect lots of techy-electro-minimal-proggy sounds

marcus schossow ftw

also digging B.E.N. vs Mr. Pit

Now that I've seen that Autechre are releasing their new album early next year, that's my biggest expectation for 2008

Something groundbreaking would be nice. Seriously this year only the Burial and Pinch albums have done that much for me.

New Burial and Autechre albums. Hopefully a bit more 2-step under the dubstep umbrella.

Right, forgot about that. It's been talked about for years now. Are they doing a vinyl boxset too?

I would like to hear some good music with at least a little originality.

Yeah, that sounds simple but in the last 4 months I would go on Juno, listen to about 15 random new records in styles such as Leftfield, Prog. House, Tech House, Breaks, D'n'B, find about 3 tracks overall to be "not bad", frown, and abandon the idea of trying to find fresh electronic music for about a month. And then repeat the previous steps.

The only thing I'm really looking forward to is the new Autechre album.

Absolutely love that song.
In for new WOW album, I need new tracks to fuel my obsession.

totaly agree! Everything is so toned down now seems to be such a lack of energy in the bulk of releases in the past year. Need something that will get you going like a cattleprod to the arse.

-Bassline House blows up and dies down really quickly, to be replaced in the underground with "Breakbeat House" (which is basically just '99 era 2-Step Garage under a different name).

-Even more vocal trance, ASOT 2008 album comes out from Armin and has 2 instrumental songs on it, the rest is vocal (Jennifer Rene being featured in at least 3 songs on the album)

-Add2Basket/Eelke Kleijn/Nick Warren style prog comes back, has the atmospherics and melody of the classic prog era, but with a slight dose of funk and electro house elements. (my dream )

-Someone records a washing machine rinse cycle, adds a sparse 4x4 kickdrum and really high frequency hihats over it, and creates the minimal track of the year

-Involver 2 comes out and is a return to form for Sasha (another dream for me)
