we needed some grit, a la old school davids, this is a great pick-up.
i see Juve in the CL next year, especially with Trezeguet's form this year. and what more can you ask for after last year's debacle.

More of a Paolo Montero than Davids imo. Can be a useful addition...

His a top defender no questions about that, not a Villa fan but I've always rated him.

What happened to old Montero. Only watch a couple of Seria A games a season even though they show them live here in the UK. Laura Esposito is the only reason I watch it

Saying that not a big fan of Fulham the bastards put my team out the Prem three seasons ago, mind you all we had to do was draw and we would of kept up our team played shit on the day and they punished us. Another nine years of Championship misery |
didnt coby jones play here for a while aswell? lol

I was thinking of Sissoko with that Davids comment.
Olof is definitely a great gritty defender too.
both fantastic signings, our defense hasn't been that great this year and that was a good working of the market to get out there and shore it up.

Sissoko and fantastic signings are not something I thought I'd ever hear in the same breath.

end of story |
I must be one of the few Americans who has left the country. I've seen outside our borders, and I liked what I saw.

who at liverpool IS performing lately, exactly?
i figure he's a steal at this price if he goes back to his old form.

In all honesty if either one of Torres, Gerrard or Mascherano get fucked, your screwed against any of the other big four.
Kuyt's proving to be more of a target man this season and Voronin started good but hasn't been performing.

Pretty much. We'd still have Babel, Crouch, Benayoun though...probably not enough to win, but that hasn't really been Liverpool's goal as of late

You won't beat the likes of Manc's, The gooners and Chelski. This season has been quite intresting though I can see Villa, Everton and Man City turning into a seven horse race.
Ryan Babels fucking wicked. I don't get why Rafa plays sicknote Kewell instead of him
. Before he moved to Liverpool saw him play a few international matches and caught some highlights of him at Ajax and he looks dangerous.
Not a big fan of Crouch, his rubbish in the air compared to people of simular height i.e. Jan Koller etc, at the same time he cannot compensate for that as he has no speed or flair.
Benayoun. Is alright was a bit shocked when you lot brought him.
I tell you who I do rate you lot have Xabi Alonso's brilliant playmaker he reads the game well. Finnan consistant reliable what you want with a right back. Riise can hit a ball like a hammer usually quite a handy player.

Crouch is trash.

Might as well use this as a transfer news thread till the summer window opens.
News from the Red Tops (Could be far fetched) David Bentley has caught the attention of some La Liga teams Sevilla, Real Madrid and Valencia are closely watching Bentley.
David Villa linked with Chelsea and Spurs. Berbatov is looking leave Spurs this summer.
Klaas Jan Huntelaar is wanted by both Man City and Roma. This is one signature race worth watching.

Nooooooooooo.
There goes Valencia and Ajax downhill. :\ Both are brilliant players in both teams, and would be missed.
If they move, I hope it is to proper top teams, regular in the Champions League, so they can get the recognition they deserve.

I wouldn't worry too much, there just rumours at the moment if you hear news around May time then it's likely to happen. Cannot wait for the summer window in fact.

He played for my team on loan and we let him go. That explains something of how bad he is.
His tall but useless in the air. Slow, not the best at ball control, most of his shots he scores with seem like utter flukes with no technical ability involved.
Only plus point Crouch has is he can hold up a ball well if he played with two world class strikers beside him then he'd be very handy. However in a convential two man strike team he ends up too deep or loosing possession trying to hold off defenders while attempting to find a shooting chance.
Realisticially he's a target man not an out and out centre forward if he worked on that side of the game and is used correctly he'd be a brilliant player in that role.
