Pretty much my entire life, I'm from Portland although I went to college and grad school on the East Coast...as of today or yesterday I've lived in Manhattan for two years.

pennsylvania is nice... you can go from very rural (amish) to very urban (phila) in an hour or two.

philadelphia has a very good music scene, too.

you'll still need to drive into the city for parties...hence the reason there is whole crew of philly people who come into manhattan for parties...
