soooooooooo
i didn't wake up on time
got home from work around 1am, slept through the alarms maher and i both had set and finally woke up at 9am, got to stereo at 920am and it sadly ended at 10am...but mon dieu, what a sound pulsating through those speakers...can't give much of a review seeing how i only caught him for 45 mins but wowowowowowwwwwwww he raped the place...dark, thick, minimalesque (that is to say minimal elements) proggy beats...heard maybe one tribalish drum pattern in the time i was there, that's it...
so happy he's a resident
ummmm question to anyone who was there: did he play Ismael Rivas (aka Riva) - Luxtro (Original Mix)????????????? elie this is the track in the clip you posted...
i bet he did
that track was the whole reason why i wanted to go see him lol...
anyways, definitely a DJ who's made for the temple.

yep
dmas will do that to you sean
hehehe
Okay, slept for 3 hours and still stand by my original claim: this is the best afterhours set I have ever seen in my entire life, and easily ranks up amongst the top 5 sets I've ever heard.
My sister got into town at around 11pm, so picked some lebanese food and started drinking some gin with her friend and my buddy dmitry. Head to Stereo at around 3am, Joubin was playing a perfect techy tribal warmup set and the vibe of the place was great. The valentines decor was really nice, the place was hopping but there was still room to dance, and there was a surprisingly good girl to guy ratio, which isn't something I particularly care about at the afterhours but is nice to see nonetheless (except for the usual cracked out girls that repeatedly elbow/harass you the entire night, but that's neither here nor there). Was great to see Shara again, nice to meet you Elie, and of course good to see my other partners in crime partying it up.
Dimas hit the decks at around 5am, and holy shit did he destroy the place. His set was just PURE DANCEFLOOR; a relentless attack of driving beats and huge buildups that never disappointed. For me, his set captured everything that I love about house/prog/techno, and is in my opinion what a perfect afterhours set represents -- everything about it sounded so underground and the dancefloor was rocking from beginning til end. My sister and I danced front and centre for the entirety of his set without taking a break; my legs were killing but he just didn't give me an opportunity to rest, the set was just too fucking banging. He seemed to be having a wicked time and had a smile on his face pretty much the entire night.
Some IDs:
Deadmau5 - Not Exactly
Ismael Rivas - Fact2 (D-Formation mix)
Ismael Rivas - Luxtro (destroyed the place)
Fatboy Slim - Star 69 (some awesome remix)
Sia - The Girl You Lost To Cocaine (Sander van doorn remix)
Age of Love - Age of Love (some remix)
Fanciulli - Cat Out Of The Bag (Jim Rivers mix)
Julian Jewell - Air Conditione (his closer)
What an amazing night, I can't wait for this guy to come back. Sister's first time at an afterhours/partying in Montreal; talk about a great first impression.
NO ONE HAS EVER PLAYED NOT EXACTLY BETTER THAN THIS GUY.
fit so perfect!
what a night!
also played Domino - Oxia
I am seriously still in shock. I have been listening to his new promo all afternoon just being nostalgic about the night.
And we get this 4 times a year!
wowowow what can i say?
I had an amaaaaazing time, the music was banging all night.
D-Formation really knows how to make a crowd move!
all in all, amzing night, props to blended for bringing new talent like this, ill be sure to come back next time he's in town.

HA ha, He's already booked for May 9th!!! (as per Myspace calander)!
Man this guy played some really intense stuff. One of the best sets ive ever heard at Stereo! my new favorite Dj to.
Favorite track- Monsta(D-Formation remix) crazy shit! lol
Sickness. I know where I'm gonna be May 9th.
Perfect music !
Same here,
there was a great vibe before the appearance of D-Formation, the entrance was phenomenal and you could feel the people were there to listen to him. There was a great mix of people indeed apart those 2 different girls who where ''playing the elbow game'' but still managable. His sound was wicked and very well thought. Perfect music, perfect attitude from the DJ too ! The only thing that dissapointed us was that it was not full enough. It is hard to understand that for a city of this size there was only about 500 patrons, that was our only negative point.
Can`t wait for Ricardo Villalobos on March 1st.
