Go Australia 3-0 Qatar!!!!

Was a good first half, second half died on its arse....

the goals from the lads were pretty awesome, cahill stepped up and bresciano's monster down the centre showed they had presence and flair...and kennedy can jump, for a tall bloke he has one helluva leap.

They should do well in their group...fingers crossed they make it through the next few games.

Posted by sLiCk_NiCk on Feb-07-2008 01:12:

yeh the team gelled better then i expected. good on the boys.

lets hope we can get them all back together on a regular basis throughout this qualification stage.

Posted by 00soups00 on Feb-07-2008 02:21:

i wanna breifly mention how good spurs look now they've dumped Defoe and gained Hutton and Woodgate...

we'll smash Chelsea.

seems really unfair that tottenham can't field Hutton for the UEFA cup matches ebcause rangers are still int he competition. how does that worK??

Posted by PauLie_C on Feb-07-2008 02:49:

because he is cup tied

Posted by christos on Feb-07-2008 03:07:

well we'll have to wait and see how the new spurs lineup goes against chelsea's full squad. 24th Feb carling cup final bring it on!

Posted by Paulie on Feb-07-2008 04:33:

Has Woodgate finally got rid of his white line addiction? lol

As for Australia, held off buying tickets until i found out the euro players were coming back, and thank fuck they did! Just a quality performance, got the job done within 20 mins...Very impressed.

Marco Bresciano, his first touch is unfreakingbelieable!

I swear Emerton has improved so bloody much, and we rely on him heaps, definately should be considered for captaincy.

Did anyone else think mcdonald was a little fat fuck? He did well in saying that tho.

Craig Moore great player, but definately not up to it anymore hence playing a-league, serves us well and wish him the best. Need another centerback, not much quality out there for us tho.

Cahill makes me laugh, so bloody good in the box, but does very little in lead up play etc...still a quality act.

As for Archie Thompson you little fucken loser. If you want a game for Australia, become a decent player, having a sooky sook in the media about how the jet lag is too much is not going to get you a game. You might fool the aussie A-league followers to think your a good player, but your fucken shite, hence why pim didnt even use you!

LOL

Arhcie would have nailed the two chances that Aloisi screwed up in the last half that's for sure

Carney was the standout for me last night, continually directing the play forward he completley dominated his wing. He's certainly going to be a big part of this campaign.

Posted by Paulie on Feb-07-2008 05:45:

Archie isnt even fit to tie Aloisi's shoe laces... Sure he missed a one on one but have a look at the sublime first touch from a 40 meter ball. Thats quality, archies touch would of sent that to city rd maccas.

Posted by christos on Feb-07-2008 05:50:

interesting column:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/li...in_page_id=1779

archie thompson LOLOLOLOLOLOL he's shit! That's why he didn't get a start and was never subbed on. That's a sign of his future..benchy (on a national level).

Posted by Paulie on Feb-07-2008 05:53:

No doubt Archie will have another sook soon!

Posted by Paulie on Feb-07-2008 05:55:

Interesting read christos, but it lost me the minute the author tried to argue that Terry Butcher was a big loss for England coaching ranks...

fucking lmao!

did aloisi need to put those two goals in though? Even if archie put them in, what difference would it have made?

What type of Logic is that Chris? LOL

Using that Logic, did Pim even need to even sub him on? What was the point of him even playing?

Posted by christos on Feb-07-2008 06:25:

Fuck it's pretty simple Dean.....

Aloisi didn't HAVE to score in all fairness, obviously he tried and missed...big shit! if the scores were nil nil then fuck, dean you're spot on right...but not that bit about Archie!!! LOL

You can hypothesise all you like, the winning goals were all scored before half time, what logic is that you ask? simple mate. The game was called before first half, anything that came after that was simply a slap in the face to Qatar.

If you didn't notice, Australia drained the fuck out of the second half, the worst part about teams slamming it first half...they hold the game for the win and makes for shitty viewing.

who did aloisi replace? Kennedy...why? injured. He probably would never have been subbed on if Kennedy didn't ruin his ankle. Fuck, did you even watch the game!!!?!?!LOL

Posted by Dean Millson on Feb-07-2008 06:33:

Chris, if my aunty was a man, she'd be my uncle.

dont think he was that serious about the comment lol, a bit of a wink at the end and we were all at the game and wanted Archie to come on just for Melbourne's sake

I think they would have subbed Kennedy off anyway - they were in no danger of losing and might as well change them around.

Boy your right though - the 2nd half was boring as fuck except for watching their keeper - great entertainment.

Chris think about it....

What if it all comes down to goal difference, then we will curse aloisi wont we, id much rather win 5-0 then 3-0, it makes it alot harder for other teams to catch us in terms of goal difference.

Posted by christos on Feb-07-2008 22:12:

hey dean. what's the difference between an orange?

at the end of the day paulie you can't view games like that, you'll never be happy with the result. how many times do players miss...shit happens. If they can't step up when it matters most, clearly they aren't cut out for world competition, because everyone plays under the same pressure. it's pretty simple.

Posted by christos on Feb-08-2008 02:53:

Premier League goes global?

http://soccernet-akamai.espn.go.com...=505866&cc=3436

this apparently means we'll see game(s) played in Sydney if it all goes to plan. I reckon that's awesome! Have a read it's looking the goods but not so sure how player's fitness will hold up since they play 3-4 games per week at certain times with champions league, carling cup, FA etc. and now adding this may be a challenge.

So your telling me archi would of controlled that 40 metre ball. Guarantee you that would of gone city road maccas if it was archie!

well I wasn't so sure about the draw, Liverpool aren't fairing too well, it's a good thing we drew and didn't lose. Man U losing means we nudge closer to them and if Arsenal now lose/draw, things remain closer than ever.

Full Chelsea squad should be back soon, Terry is feeling confident he'll be ready for the Carling cup final also....he really has been missing from the lineup.

I'm looking forward to the champions league game Chelsea v Olympiakos...it should be an exciting game.
