nothing as far as losing jobs...but whenever i see mistakes, i call people out on it. just the other day DM had a thermal low analyzed over southwest texas, and i called them up and said, "wtf is this?" unfortunetly the person who drew the chart had already left. but they fixed the mistake the following day.

*edit*

considering i outrank about 90% of the people on my flight, i usually have no quams about calling people out.

You work in the health profession and this is very important. Ethics should always come first.

You might be afraid that this could fuck up your job but remember that the higher ups notice things like this and will reward you in due time.

Good on you

Not doing the right thing is part of my job.

You did the right thing. If you do get terminated, just take in the comfort that there is a global nursing shortage and you can get a job pretty much anywhere you want.

yeah, i'd be wary of following fledz's advice. it can get pretty nasty in the medical world with stuff like that.

I am not to be trusted.

I find it sort of interesting how people come to trust corporate heads and whatnot to recognize honourable efforts.

Funny little reward process we have established for our positive corporate new competence.

"Do the right thing - you will be rewarded"

Yeah.

Right.

If it's any consolation, I don't trust you either.

Untill we find someone who breaks the rules without getting caught and saves us money!

Nooooooooooooo shit.

You're clearly not doing something right then. It may not always work but if that happens then you make it work, otherwise you fall in the 95% of people who can't make things happen. The other 5% make things happen and benefit both themselves and their employers.

It only takes a second to kill somebody.

Whenever we have outside vendors supporting a show, I make a point to walk through the room and check thier setup to make sure they aren't overloading the electrical systems, everything is safe, etc.

There is one supplier who I tend to ride a little harder, because they are always doing stupid shit. Not clipping on saftey chains for lighting instruments, for example. A 20lb light falling 20 or 30 feet would certainly ruin your day. I told them to chain thier lights or take them down, "no problem" I'm told. And hour and a half later, 45 minutes before show, I check again. Nothing. I told them again to chain thier lights, "we don't have time". No good. Approach the client directly and tell them to direct thier company or I'm not letting them open doors. Period.

People get pissed. Boo-hoo. Do your fucking job. Try explaining to the ministry how you buried a leko in someone's head because you were too lazy to climb a ladder.

Shit no way! Well if I don't need her advice on this matter, I could certainly use the hook up when I'm done school, lolololol.

OMG HAS ANYONE BEEN FIRED YET?!

Posted by Silky Johnson on Jan-29-2008 20:42:

LOL....the administrator hasn't been in the past 2 days. In all honesty, I don't think she's going to do anything about it. :/

Posted by Zoso on Jan-29-2008 20:45:

I seem to recall an incident where my wife (LPN) reported something the DON did not do (that should have been done). I don't think any disciplinary action followed. Anyway, there seems to be a lot of back biting in health care - nursing homes, especially. Good money, but Christ on pogo stick there's no way I could do it for a living.

Posted by Silky Johnson on Jan-29-2008 20:51:

Well not all facilities are like that, or even like the one I work at. There's both good and bad, like all things.
