Kay, this is me and Dervish (I thought it would be easier for Dervish if I hosted the file at my server ):

http://guerra.tomoni.org/Rec%20by%20Lira.mp3 (Me)
http://guerra.tomoni.org/Rec%20for%20Lira.mp3 (Dervish)

I've never been to an English speaking country, and I grew up watching British sitcoms, so I know my accent sounds weird

edit: Actually, I lived in the US when I was 2 years old, but I don't really think that counts

Trained? You are making me sound like a Samurai

your english speaking accent is like a mashup of what seems like maybe 3 different accents. a british type in the way you say some words, the spanish like tongue use, and im not sure what else.

You have a better english accent than me. Quite 'BBC' that is proper english.

One tip with that is not to say "draw-ring" rather than drawing. The english home county types tend to do that. And it is incorrect. (not that you did but with that type of accent they do)

Hehe, thanks

(and thanks for the tip too )

I wish I could speak spanish in ANY form!

My great grandad jumped ship in oz and disappeared for 20 years came back able to speak it fluently so should be in my blood somewhere.

Hable Anglais? is about as much as I know.

Spanish speakers puzzle me. A guy from Cuba once said I had a thick Portuguese accent, some guys from Peru thought I was from Mexico, and my last Spanish teacher thought I was from Spain. What a bloody mess

But, yeah, it's a wonderful language to learn, Dervish... and it's quite hilarious too

Man of course you speak Portuguese.... I know none of that.

How do you say 2 beers please?

In Spanish:
"Dos cervezas, por favor" [doughs sir-BAY-thahs, por Fah-bor]

In Portuguese:
"Duas cervejas, por favor" [DOO-uhs sir-VAY-zhahs, poo FAH-voe]

(I can't record a sample right now, my girlfriend is asleep)

"Choose life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family. Choose a fucking big television, choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players and electrical tin openers. Choose good health, low cholesterol and dental insurance. Choose fixed-interest mortgage repayments. Choose a starter home. Choose your friends. Choose leisurewear and matching luggage. Choose a three-piece suite on hire purchase in a range of fucking fabrics. Choose DIY and wondering who the fuck you are on a Sunday morning. Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing, spirit-crushing game shows, stuffing fucking junk food into your mouth. Choose rotting away at the end of it all, pishing your last in a miserable home, nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish, fucked-upbrats you have spawned to replace yourself. Choose your future. Choose life. But why would I want to do a thing like that? I chose not to choose life: I chose something else. And thereasons? There are no reasons."

Haha, I might give this a go. Not that anyone would choose to listen to an Australian accent on purpose...

Yeah, mine does sound weird. I think because I'm reading? My voice normally has a bit more flow to it in regular conversation (I hope! )
