I agree, Digweed is one of the best mixers, but when I think of Digweed, I don't think of 4 tracks playing all together at the time. That's what I meant by sticking to what he does best. I think a well planned out mix with a solid TL would beat anything he does with Abelton. I preferred the mixing style of Vol 1 over Vol 3. But we'll see, I might be surprised.
As for Sasha's delay. Last year he had to do the soundtrack to the New Emissions Of Light DVD, start up his own record label and studio in NY and release new material for it. On top of that, his wife was expecting a child and he had to be there for his first born. Can't blame the guy for slacking a bit lately. I'd rather be patient, especially with Involver 2. He's in the studio now and has been for 2 months. After a quick tour with Digweed, he should be back in again and finishing off the album for a summer or fall release, if all goes well.
Seems a bit overkill with the layering in my opinion. I can see maybe a few tracks in the mix, but this just seems a bit much.
I personaly didn't enjoy T3 as much as I would have hoped because of how he crammed a lot of the tracks together. Don't get me wrong, he did it nicely but I much would have rather heard most of the tracks in full. So with that being said, I just don't see how this mix is going to be much different for me. Hopefully I am wrong though.
Looks like he's going to put some variety to the mix again, at last. Like I said before, vol 2 and 3 were dull and vol 1 was superb because of good tracks and variety. Now that tracklist looks interesting

not bad, i like it
I just pre-ordered it. Definitely becoming more and more of a fanboy...not even sure why
I guess there's just fewer and fewer big name DJ's I respect these days, so I'm really supporting the ones that still keep up the quality.
As for Sasha's delays, I actually kinda like that about him. I always got the impression from Sasha that things don't come easy to him. He has good and bad nights in DJing. When he started off with Ableton, he'd really let things get messy sometimes. He's not a natural gear head or self-trained musician. But, when he really does work hard at things (Involver 1 or GU: San Fran for example) he's really tough to compete with though.
this looks fucking awesome! i know a CD is going to be good when i hardly know any of the tracks on it hahahaha...
also, the cover art for the transitions series has been fantastic. really clean, consistent, and clever, while retaining a stylish vibe. just what the series is about, right? kudos!
Listened to the minimix today, sounded nice. Definitely has me looking forward to vol 4.

good pattern by digweed on his transitions covers
T2 split in half, T3 in three, T4 in four - always with the same hairdo

I still liked the first one the most, not that the other two aren't good. Let's see how this one turns out.

| Originally posted by Paradox Lost Perhaps it's just the sandy blond hair of his, but I can see it much more reflective of the ultra laid back Southern California type than the emo/skater type. Maybe he'll wind up creating a "Superstar Tech House DJ/Producer" craze of his own. |
