just like im saying that being gone for 2 MONTHS doesnt make me a fucking alien to whats going on.
you are the one reading into to things here man. Its called a discussion board. I'm discussing.
edit: and by this i mean instead of posting something random, discuss and use facts. Thats all i'm saying here. Save the tooth fairy stuff for another time.

I'm sure a Britney Spears thread would get more than the Villalobos one too. Ricardo Villalobos, as awesome as he is, will not be a household name in North America, and you can't really be surprised that he gets less acknowledgement than crap mainstream DJs. Also, the majority of the posts in this thread are from people in agreement that Tiesto is crap -- quite the opposite in the Villalobos one.
Yeah, our scene is nowhere near as good as it is in Europe, I've seen the parties there myself. Does that mean our scene is bad? no. I'm actually really happy with it out here; sure as fuck is a lot better than Vancouver ever was!
Britney Spears would not get such a big thread on a Tranceaddict forum...

Mossa is gone too Julien.
And Sean by no means do i think its hopeless. The only problem is instead of moving forward a few years ago it started to regress. Now im no genius, but when things get worse instead of better its normal it can cause some concern. I might have fucked off from this town (and am spoiled fucking rotten now
) but it will always be where i am from and i'll always be interested in how things are. Its my home.
ps Villalobos will tear me a new one on saturday and have me all nice and fluffy like i used to be Markesss...
oh who the fuck am i kidding.
heheheh
somewhere Tiesto, Deadmau5 and ZraW are plotting how to wack a bunch of TAs at the same time.

Tiesto haters seem to always be old people who should be retired or retiring soon from the scene.
Fact is he's the one attracting all the "newbies"
BUT THAN AGAIN QUESTION WASNT : IS TIESTO GREAT
SO LET ME REPHRASE
DID ANY OF YOU KNOW IT ALL TRANCEWISE PEOPLE HEARD ANYTHING BOUT HIM COMMING

i love tiesto
he plays 182829x times better tracks than AVB or ferry
and he still manages to throw some classics here and there hehehehe! WOU

I think the scene is fine. Lol
Montreal clubs, and party organizers present us a wide array of parties showcasing all genres of electronic music-tribal, minimal, electro, deep house whatever it is its all here. The underground is there you just have to find it, dig deep, go out. I have to admit I may go out quite a lot and get to see a lot of Dj's, so for those who are not sure, from what i see/hear there is a lot going on here musically and its great the scene is getting better. Im only presenting my perspective and it might not be much but its one more perspective to consider.
Stereo and Piknik alone give me a taste of everything, what is everyone complaining about? Besides Tiesto, and we all know about Tiesto:P
Anyways just felt like writing something

| Originally posted by julien2 Maybe so, but what you said was totally wrong, even if you say respectfully before saying it. Jay is right about the state of the scene in Montreal. There's no doubt about it when you see all the talent leaving town one after another. In two months I have seen Guillaume Coutu Dumont and Ernesto Feyrrera (sp??) leave for Europe. And it doesnt take a god to understand that we have a problem right now. Fortunately, we still have Piknic, I love Neon and Mutek, who are all struggling to deliver some good shows. They try hard, but they still face the same problems with the Montreal hard to please crowd. The small amount of survivors such as Pheek, Mossa and Akufen (who is out of town 99% of the year anyways) try to make it here but they get close to no recognition. And now a Tiesto in Montreal topic has 5 pages in one day, and a Ricardo Villalobos thread gets 10 in 2 months. That, respectfully, is a fucking big problem. |
