I have mine with lotsa mayo, pepper, salt and old cheddar cheese. The bite to the cheddar compliments the onion perfectly.

Honestly weirdest sandwich that I absolutely love!

naw, not the fancy places.
just a snack or quick bite...there's mcdonalds, subway and timmies right below my building but they are my last resort choices now.

every so often I'm on a quest to find a 'white-castle-kinda-place'.

hmm, can't remember.
although galaxy wasn't really a local product, but you don't see a lot of the old local stuff like oman chips, safari chocolate kinda stuff on the shelves anymore....at least not in dubai.

well you MIGHT find it in the smaller grocery stores.
i had a funny encounter last christmas when i went down..
i picked up a small bag of oman chips which has been for like 50fils for years....only to find out from the cashier that its 2 dirhams now...and he had this where-have-you-been-all-this-time look on his face.

we shouldn't be hijacking this thread though, lol.

i did a search and i don't think we do for food (drinks/cocktails - yes)

you should start one since you have some ready!
don't starve us lazy men to death

My take on popular sandwhiches...

roast beef HAS to have horseradish
steak HAS to have peppers.
any spicy cold cut is excellent with onion
turkey needs mayo
tuna needs cucumber
pepper on everything.

and from my personal experiences...

if the bread is fresh, the meat is fresh, cheese is fresh, the veggies are fresh any combination is gold. with or without condiments. Keep your taste buds guessing, the key is FRESH.

But I am partial to havarti (jalapeno mostly) on everything...so creamy and a hint of spice.
