I started off with the name "Emerald Fusion"

i was really into poi & glowsticking when i first started going to raves (no, not the e-tarded way but the actual advanced stuff) and some friends just named me that cuz it looked like green emerald glowsticks flying around and fusing together hahaha.

I later found out that Emerald Fusion was already taken by a band in germany, as well as the name of a pro-wrestling move. So i just decided to one day change it to Saphyre. (as opposed to Sapphire, which would seem pretty generic as im sure there are other DJ Sapphires around). Thats the name ive had since i started gettin booked for parties, so i just kept it. I've thought about changing it to 'Kenji Saphyre' though (my middle name). I dont think my own plain name 'Rob Pan' is catchy enough hahaha

I kinda wanna go back to Emerald Fusion now though! I suppose i'll just use it for a song or recordlabel name whenever i get around to learning how to produce.

shouldn't this be your first question before thinking of a dj name?

just buy all the tracks you want to play. practice. practice. practice.
practice in front of your friends and listen for comments & suggestions. read the crowd.
