The difference with Timberlake is that he's nowhere near as influential as MJ was, nor was he as good of a dancer or singer or artist as MJ, meaning he's shit compared to him. Then again, I personally think Timberlake is shit so maybe its all personal preferences maybe?

I don't think it's even possible to be as influential in this day and age as MJ was in his peak.

I still remember anxiously awaiting the world premiere of the Thriller video on TV... That shit was such a big deal back then.

Though, I'll never get sick of some of his songs... especially Billie Jean.

Billie Jean
Off The Wall
Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough
Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'
Beat It

- the first black entertainer to amass a strong cross-over following on MTV with his revolutionary transformation of the music video as an art form and as a promotional tool.
- cited as the "Most Successful Entertainer of All Time" by Guinness World Records, and holds the record for the best-selling album ever, Thriller.
- Michael Jackson has received thirteen Grammy Award (eight on a single night in 1984) and two of his solo albums have been inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.
- Jackson has charted thirteen #1 singles in the United States, more than any other male artist in the Hot 100 era.
- In November 2006, the World Music Awards announced that Jackson had sold over 750 million units worldwide and given $300 million to charity, making Jackson one of the best-selling music artists and the most charitable humanitarians of all time, whose efforts on the latter front have been acknowledged with a Nobel Peace Prize nomination.
- Michael Jackson is widely regarded as being the first artist to elevate music videos to a meaningful art form, setting off new trends of story-telling, mini-movies, and choreographed dance sequences that dominate the genre to this day.
- dated Brooke Shields, married and divorced Lisa Marie Presley (who was :hawt: in his You Are Not Alone video)

Think of him what you will, yes the man is and always has been eccentric (who could blame a kid who's been in the public spotlight since he was a child and physically abused by his father), there's no denying the MTV generation and the world benefitted from the brilliance that is/was Michael Joseph Jackson.

One from the archives... the Jackson 5 get together for Motown 25. First time MJ does the moonwalk on stage.

hey who remembers the Oprah interview?

Edit: Lol swamps beat me to it

"We Are the World" is a 1985 song written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie, produced and conducted by Quincy Jones and recorded by a supergroup of popular musicians billed as USA for Africa. The charity single was intended to raise funds to help famine-relief efforts in Ethiopia, which experienced unusual drought in 1984/1985

one of my fave songs ever.
