Hello everyone.. It is I Jeff - HTG - the promoter of said Orlando event

A little about us.. We have been around since the days of Marz/Impact/The Edge/ Firestone. Just recently we have gotten back into helping bring bigger events to Orlando as it is starting to become feasable (we wont goto jail for having a party - and can actually pay the outrageous fees these artists are getting). We started events back up about 3 years ago with Paul Oakenfold.. and since have done shows all over the city with all sorts of talent.

It really makes me sad to see so many people hating on venues / etc without doing any research. HTG is a lighting and sound company.. I think we can bring in a few toys to make the show a little special. For those of you that have been around - I'm sure your familiar with some of the things I have done.

Tabu is a top 40 / hip hop / and college venue. Hence the sound is limited HEAVILY. I will be pulling the stops out that night. (I've been the technical director of the room for about 8 years now). This building has more history than ANY other nightclub. Elvis has played on our stage. The room is in pretty damn good shape. And we have just finished adding over 120 tons of NEW A/C on our roof rebuilding project that has literally taken a year.

I have had some pretty insane shows in "the 'bu". Some have had their problems - but for the most part - they have been a lot of fun.

The core group of Disco affiliates is pretty amazing here. My friends from New Orleans, my old school friends from around Florida, and all my new friends making a living here are all coming together to bring these shows to you.

So tell your friends.. come out.. get your tickets early while they are cheap. I'm putting alot of effort into this show to make it go well!

most places close at 2am in Orlando, but this one is going till 3am.

We had the first 100 tickets at a limited presale for $20. The final ticket price will probably be 30$ if there are any left.

There are still a handful of VIP tickets. If you would like bottle service you must call the club and reserve a VIP table - PLUS you must have a VIP ticket for each party member! www.tabunightclub.com for VIP #

We are going to open doors at 9pm - The last time I brought Paul Oakenfold (for his first Orlando appearance in years) we had a line around the building. Arrive early to avoid lines!

Last call is at 2:00AM - and the last song will play anywhere from 2:30-until 2:45.

Well, dont get offended but this sucks. In new York we go home around 7.30 8.00 am.

What about WMC. I never been in Miami for any events including WMC. Do People go home that early too?

No warm-up DJ too?

this definatley does not suck

New York and Miami are not a part of this country. The rest of us have curfews and certain operating hours we can sell booze. I don't think it sucks at all - it's the way Central Florida has been for years now. So arrive early - there will be over 5 hours of music and fun - plenty of time to get your groove on!

how long will armin be spinning? trying to decide if it would be worth the drive

Posted by llavoe on Apr-28-2008 22:35:

6 DJs on the bill, and 5 hours of music. So four Djs are going to split 2 hours before Blake and Armin come on? Timeslots?

the thing that concerns many of us is how long the OPENING Djs will be spinning vs the main event--Armin. So many "early" shows leave the main DJ just 2 hours to play...just curious if yours will be any different, or if i should stay in cleveland and enjoy my 2 hours of Armin music 20 minutes from home the next night.
the idea of hopping to orlando/new club to see Armin is exciting, but not if its a shoooort set.

I doubt this will go all the way until 3am. Armin charges a lot of money per hour, and Jeff made it pretty clear that anything Armin wants to do on his own after 2:30 is up to him as long as the club permits it. That is why I did not count 2-3am in my calculation. Keep in mind this is a Monday night and I do not see the club staying full after 2am, which will make the club close early.

DJ Slots

It is on Armins Rider that he will play 3 hours. He has an opening DJ Blake that I believe is getting 2 hours. There are 2 rooms of sound - so that leaves 1 of our local djs for the main room - and the rest will probably be playing the front room.

Time slots are not set in stone - and I will post a schedule as soon as we get it approved!

Actually we would push it if it thins out.. Orlando has a strict policy that a nightclub must be CLEARED of all patrons at 3am - you can lose your liquor license if not.. Thats a cool $450,000 for a liquor license these days.. nobody is willing to risk that

just curious...why can't you just stop selling alcohol at a certain time...then that cures the issue and the DJ can play as long as he wishes...and if anyone is lame enough to say they wouldn't stay to dance without buying booze, LAME. just lame guys. haha

the liquor liscense is attached to the building - and with that comes certain laws.. one is that you are closed by 3am.. Orlando used to "Rave out" years and years ago (edge, firestone, ahhz, etc) and because of that these laws were put in place to curb drug use and crime (hides from the bottles being thrown at that statement). Its been a good 10+ years since those laws were put on the books.

So I take it you're not coming then?
