*snip*

Are you saying 2 Unlimited's influence can no longer be felt? You only hear a minimum of three of their songs at any sporting event.

Indeed there are some more impactful songs that helped create future EDM listeners...who now listen to today's upfront EDM music.

La Bouche - Be My Lover
2 Unlimited - Get Ready For This
2 Unlimited - Twilight Zone (Mortal Kombat)
Prodigy - Firestarter
Prodigy - Smack My Bitch Up
Kai Tracid - Liquid Skies
and more...

Kai Tracid - Liquid Skies

La Bouche - Be My Lover

It wasn't great, and it's certainly dead a hundred times over, but it wasn't bad either. I'm still surprised how much play it got on American radio, for a minor anthem trance production from Finland.

Paul Oakenfold Creamfield Essential Mix for me...

I always hated Sandstorm with a passion.

We had to listen to it for a year non-stop before it even went mainstream. And then 3 more years after that.

No matter how mediocre it appears to be, Sandstorm did gain incredible popularity in places where electronic music never went mainstream. Perhaps it got lucky in its timing of release and correct marketing? Or maybe americans were just ready for some fresh music?

funny part for me is that i still meet people who don't know the track, but don't know what it's called, and certainly have never heard of darude.

Alice Deejay - Better off Alone
ATB - Till I Come
Eifel 65 - Blue
DJ Jean - The Launch
Kay Cee - Escape (Electro Mix)

True, this fits exactly my case, these were the tracks I started off with... complete rubbish.

I still don't understand why in hell Sandstorm got that much popular.

Isn't there always a thread like that every couple days? "What's that song that goes 'unts unts unts unts' and it has the melody 'waaa waaaaaa wwwwwwaaaa'?"

Yeah, it's not THAT bad live, to start off.. And it's amazing if all that is ever played during the night is stupid reggae and R&B, even though the flyer said, "DANCE", and then someone drops Sandstorm or some other super-cheesy vocal "hold me in your arms" eurodance track and you feel like you're going to shit your pants from being so happy. Or that could just be the alcohol in you.

Everything is relative.

Haha, you just described perfectly why I liked Samim - Heater so much.

I once went to this club where they played rap shit and crappy pop music all night. Just when we were about to leave, completely out of the blue, the DJ drops Scatman's World!!!
Needless to say, I almost orgasm'd.

Posted by Noober on Mar-28-2008 13:16:

blue did it for me lol. cheesy eurodance ftw!

Posted by KilldaDJ on Mar-28-2008 13:22:

Yes, you've been listening to EDM for a long time. Well done. Now can you stop inferring it in every other post?

Posted by [mart] on Mar-28-2008 20:41:

I don't know about 'amazing', but it's a lot better than most people think. It's just a pity it got played to death, not that it bothered me.

I wouldn't call it interferring when I reply to someones reply. And it's not like I reply the same tracks over and over again.

Maybe you should ask others to stop cursing in every other post.....

I didn't say "interfering".

Okay, it's not a word I use daily. But then what's wrong when I reply to someones reply?

Hmmm, let's think what I should answer at the topic above, or just below this one....
