| Originally posted by misslexxus OMG!!! Wait till you young'uns turn 25+... LIFE GETS SO MUCH BETTER!!! I experienced the quarter life crisis too and had a hard time dealing with it but seriously, what I know now and what I have now compared to when I was under 24 is a world of difference! First off and the biggest thing for me, I am no longer drowning in student loans and having to do crappy summer jobs like being some CEO's bitch! I now have an awesome job I truly enjoy and I can buy pretty much what my little heart desires. In the last few months I purchased a new car and home (and pimped it out completely with the latest tech and furnishings). I've been travelling the world. People at work respect me and come to me for advice/recommendations (I'm the decision-maker now). I've also met people that wouldn't have given me the time of day if I was younger. And yes, I STILL make time to party hard and have tons of FUN! I also have enough $$$ now to treat my friends to nice dinners and to buy them all Decadence/Freedom tickets! I've come a long way and worked very hard to get to where I am now. I've had many challenges along the way of course, and watching life speed by and wondering often what I'm going to do next or what there is left of life... but honestly, I wouldn't trade this fabulous position called the late 20's to be 24 again! And one of these days I'll have marriage and a family to look forward to. Trust me, hang in there, live each day to the max and plan for the future! You'll look back with a smile as I am now. |
Meh, turning 26 in a few months. I had the panic hit me a few times, especially after I turned 25, but it did not last very long. I see so much more potential now, so much that can be accomplished, and so much hapiness and contentment to be had out of life. I try not to dwell in any given moment, nor panic about the future. Your life will be what you consciously make out of it. I learned to enjoy some very different things, and some things that I used to enjoy very much have just died down, such as partying, etc. There is just so much more to be enjoyed now.

feeling old and feeling sorry for self? LOL! get out there and do something exciting instead of thinking how old you are. 80yrs old is old 24-30 aint old at all.
Im 32.
When i was in my early to mid 20s i had a lot of energy and dreams.
Guess what?
At 32 i still have those dreams. And i have fulfilled a lot of them. Why? Because at 32 im a lot smarter, i have better financial security and i still have the energy (although waking up in the morning sometimes takes a bit more effort haha!)
I dont just dream about that party in Europe. Now I can actually go there!
I resent our society for making people believe that mid 20s (and now even younger) is old. Having travelled extensively i can truly say that this is a north american problem. In europe and south america you see people of all ages out all night. You never hear them saying that they are too old for clubs or too old to stay up past nine. In fact, i always got made fun of (by nature of my nationality) because we have a reputation of going to bed by 8. An exagerration yes, but the rest of the world knows and looks down upon our sedentary lifestyles.
I loved England for their afterwork routine of hitting the pub almost nightly. Or Argentina for the fact that a kids birthday party wouldnt start till 10pm and wouldnt end until 6 am. Or Holland where the average age at a big nightclub had to be in the 30s.
You arent old until you are dead. I suggest travelling to gain perspective on just what it means to be 25 or 35 or even 65.
aging is a priviledge that most dont seem to understand... grow old, accomplish something, be wiser... Silly ppl
you will only feel sorry for yourself and feel like you are an old fart if at sometime later in life realize you havent done shit with it and have way too many regrets.
Set your goals high, and keep at it until you drop dead... yes it will happen, either u like it or not, its a natural thing ya know?
theres a quote that I like that fits really well with what I just said...
"'Look, I've never had a dream in my life Because a dream is what you wanna do, but still haven't pursued. I knew what I wanted and did it till it was done. So i've been the dream that I wanted to be since day one"
So stop complaning you are 25 and fell old... remember that average life expectancy before the health revolution was between about 20 and 35. You live in a country that its is now over 80! Most of us, God willing, still have over half a century ahead.... and if you take care of yourself, it will be well lived.
Enjoy the times to come, and stop complaning you are getting old...
You guys are all babies
BABIES
24 = baby
I'm 21 and I have never felt more immature and retarded in my entire life... I don't think that's going to change much in 3 years.
Focus on your career and ambitions
Biological clocks are f*cking bollocks
Hunting for a partner b/c you feel you should have one produces a forced relationship which will not be healthy for anyone
you are all young and sexy
just stfu and enjoy it

Just turned 14 in January...other than my Job, everything has been on a downward spiral to shit and I have recovered it before it hits rock bottom or it has gone to shit...lol
That being said...I think 20 was my "crisis" but as I hit 21 and above i could see myself mature, and develop into a person with a train of thought that kind of came into its own...Instead of trying to fall into somewhere or be like someone or something, life and its challenges developed me and continues to develop me.
One thing our scene has taught me is how happy and how young you can look and feel at even 40+...I look forward to growing older, achieving and attaining goals and even material things that make me happy.
I like the thought of being the guy who gives advise to the young bucks...lol
Edit: 24 years old not 14 years old
