I think it was
Groove Station 4 mixed by Chris Sheppard...theres a bit of rap on it but a few really good dance tunes too.

First edm cd I ever bought was the crystal method's vegas album. I've never gotten tired of this cd...
My first EDM albums were (I still remember the order! All of them were great albums.):
The Prodigy- "Experience"
Orbital- "In Sides" (it was just released! Amazing album)
Trancemaster-7
Leftfield- "Leftism"
F.S.O.L - "Lifeforms"
Underworld- "Dubnobasswithmyheadman"
Spooky - "Gargantuan"
The Prodigy - "Music For The Jilted Generation"
As far I remember:
- Techno Rave Party Vol I (a super embarrassing crappy compilation with Moby "Go" on it)
- Thunderdome - the megamix (lol?)
- Cosmic baby - thinking about myself
- Jam & Spoon - Tripomatic Fairy tales
- The Shamen - Bossdrum
- FSOL - Lifeforms
John Digweed - GU: Hong Kong.
I really didn't like it at first an regretted buying it. I was still a EDM n00b then and was stuck listening to commercial stuff. But now, its one of my favorite mixes.
Daft Punk - Da Funk
I think it was The Prodigy - Music For The Jilted Generation but I'm not quite sure...
Paul van Dyk - The Politics of Dancing
I love how many people got brought in by Prodigy, Underworld and Orbital. Prodigy may not be very relevant today but in their time they were innovators and at the forefront and got famous without changing their music. Orbital and Underworld will go down in history as top Dance music legends methinks.
some eurodance single, i can't remember.
First CD: Koxbox - Forever After
First LP: Growling Mad Scientists - Chaos Laboratory
Or something like that anyway
previously I was into Front Line Assembly... I suppose that should be considered EDM, shouldn't it? Back in the days of Tactical Neural Implant it sure as hell was.
Think that was Dream Dance Vol. 2
Must have been.
Deep Heat No: 6
First Time i heard of " Lil Louis-Blackout". Still listen to it today.

2 Unlimited - Tribal Dance
technically some crappy pop house tunes...
but I'd like to say Gatecrasher classics in terms of real edm (after that it was X-Dream best of which was pretty crappy tbh)

I think my first Dance album was by Information Society. Loved thier stuff! They were ahead of their time with all those movie/tv show samples, especially from Star Trek. Also note the dude with the smiley face, an early prototype Raver

Just remembered one of my first cds:
Various - The World Of Dream & Trance
Although I've generally avoided trancey stuff for some time, I was so nostalgic that I bought the Freezer vinyl back in 05'. Brought back a couple of youthful memories..
