If I were you Jenny, I wouldn't say anything about her being your sister. From the sound of it, she might not know. The last thing you want is the mum getting in your way.
So, what's your intent with contacting her? Just to get in touch? That's probably what she'll be asking herself if she finds out you're her sister.. And yeah, about then she'll probably ask her mother about your story and 15 year old's aren't the hardest to pursuade that you're no good talking to.

I just found my cousin Laura who I havent's seen since 1994 on facebook... I know its not the same as a sister, but the site is cool for things like that.

I'm not really sure how to go about this, so I'll just come right out and say it: I think we're sisters. If your mom's name is Laura and you have a brother named Drake, then we are definitely sisters - we had the same father.
I don't really know what else to say...I don't want to say too much in case you're not the girl I think you are, but I don't want to say too little and upset you.

The reason I'm not including too much info is because I have no fucking idea how much she may or may not know...and what if she wants no part of this?? I don't want to drop too much on her at once. Simply being contacted will be a big enough shock for now.
I think I said it in this thread already...but there was some drama when my dad died, and she was just a baby...so that's why I need to include as little info as possible. I don't know what she knows..what her mom may have told her, etc.
I'll leave it in her hands and let her set the pace.

Honestly, the situation we come from is sort of fucked...I think this is the best way.
Either way it's a huge fucking bomb to have dropped on her...saying more isn't really going to make it any better. I think this would be overwhelming enough.
