There are a few piers right next to this one if you dont want to spend $40 you can still party , I been to the west side highway plenty of times

I wonder why they made this event 18n and over this year? My kids are going to be dissapointed. My 15 year old has been going to CP for the past 3 years he will be sad about this. I dont even want to tell him. I just found out myself. So now what? I guess I have to leave the kids home. It was so much fun for them. My daughter is going to flip. She had her picture taken with PVD last year and was really looking forward to seeing him for the first time live in CP. I'm pissed.

perhaps because the crowds of the last 3 years have been atrocious, featuring ever-increasing amounts of adolescents and fanny-packed tourists -- and paul's sets have played down to them.

Its an outside event like CP was so why wouldnt they make it free for all but 18+ instead.

That's rather interesting.

I guess they dont want people throwing each other in the water, which is another thing that came to my mind.

McCarren Pool is WIDE, but this Pier 54 looks pretty damn narrow, which is actually kind of scary.

Am i the only one that thinks this way?

yea this pier dont look much bigger then central park from the pics on the internet
one day ill go by and check it out in person but i dont think its that big so i hope theres a limited amount of tix sold or somethin to keep it from overcrowding and the pier from breaking and we all fall into the water lol

Haha, I'll try and stop by sometime this weekend or the next if I have the time as well, just to see if its worth it throwing out 40$

If it was wide then fine, since you can spread out, but if its thin and long, well then some people are going to be stuck all the way in the back, unless he plays on water and people dance on the pier, that would be awesome and original actually lol.

Only thing that worries me is the overcrowding and the super close proximity to water. Look at the chances of someone falling in if they get a little % into them.

Hello!

Dont laugh about people falling in the water from a pier. That happened in Philly about 4 years ago and like 5 people died. The pier wasnt built to hold that many people so everyone on the deck went into the water and everyone sued. It was a mess. And very sad. I just read Armin is all ages. So maybe I will take the kids to that instead. They just love PVD thats all. I have never met any atrocious people at a show in CP. Everyone was always nice to me and my kids. And when PVD met them he had a smile from ear to ear. If I could upload the photos I would show you but I dont know how

That actually did worry me a bit when I saw the location. Imagine PVD is spinning a hard ass set and hundreds of people are stomping at the same time. I really hope that pier is stable.

ME TOO!!! The pier may be more stable than some of the people there!!LOL!! Including me. LOL

A pic with a concert going on I found.

Now I'm reconsidering if i should go or not.

lets hope it doesn't rain on that day, because then you are going to get some heavy winds from the river.

If the pier breaks and we fall in the water, well then we probably have life time comps to all Made events.

And yes, pier 34 in Philly did collapse; it was a big legal battle as to whether or not there was pre-existing damage to the pier and that it was not strong enough to hold that many people but I'm not exactly sure what the real deal is.

I guess just bring your swimmies just in case.

Imagine all the lawsuits. Everybody affected would sue.

Its a dangerous situation if we don't know the status of the pier.

I for one know how to swim but the waters are still frigid, its not warm enough yet. I guess it will be best to stand in the back, closer to streets
