I met Armin last year at the pool. But I would agree the sounds was awful. Def not loud enough at all! ! ! I still had a great time minus the gross smell of b.o. that kept lingering around as this one kid was dancing near us all night.

Overall it was a great time esp at the end. . . but again it was an outdoor show and aparently there r sound restrictions. Wish this was moved to central park so it cld b as loud as PVD!

I may still attend this one. Big perk was all of the space to wonder about and dance in!

Wow...

I cant believe they are bringing Armin back to this dump. The sound last year was AWFUL. There arent any noise restrictions during the day, and they acted like there were. Plus parking was atrocious in that area. The tobacco warehouse is the best outdoor venue in NYC, they had a great turnout 2 years ago there for 2 days straight, I dont get why they havent gone back there. Does anyone know if there was a problem of some sort after those parties?

i bet its gonna be another "armin only" type event with a few guest suprise apperences

I think doing a big tent set up would make a huge difference in this place. I like the idea of doing this in BK, and like everyone, am surprised they arent doing it at TW. That was by far, one of my favorite outdoor events... Set Armin on a lower stage inside a nice big tent, would def create a more intimate feel. That, plus cranking up the volume can still make this event worth it.

It's very true that the sound sucked last year, but if you try and make the best of it, its worth it

Go with a bunch of friends and you'll have fun. I just seriously hope they turn up the sound. That was the party killer, and the early finish. If he starts off the spin like he did in the second half and keeps going, then it will be awesome!!

Thats what we need, a good set with louder sound!

We wanted to take a second and address some of the issues you�ve mentioned here.

First, we�re sorry to tell you that Tobacco Warehouse was a one-time event. We will not be doing any more events there in the future. We had a great time there and agree that it was an amazing party. Unfortunately the neighborhood didn�t share our view! Furthermore and to clarify, the reason Armin was able to spin until 11 at that event is because Tobacco Warehouse is on a State Park where City permitting doesn�t apply.

Second, we are addressing the sound issues at McCarren Pool and totally redesigning the sound to more appropriately fit the space. We had some first year glitches and we are dealing with them.

And Finally. This event is not an Armin Only event but it WILL be Only Armin spinning the beats you love all night long.

We are confident this will be a dope party with an extra dope sound system. Can�t wait to see you on the dance floor!

Hope whatever they do to the sound works. It was pretty sad last year how you could barely hear the music if u were up in front.

Damn sucks I never made it to Tobacco Warehouse.

Mc-Carren should be made state property :P

I don't see why people would whine and complain about a concert, I mean cmon. There is bars and clubs that go until 1am and people yell, cry and argue after them, which is the same thing as music playing.

Hope that Armin starts off good.
I hate beginning of parties, since you usually stand around and listen, and then a few minutes to an hour later, things heat up so much that you don't want it to stop.

Either way, its the crowd + the DJ that makes the time worth it

I guess since he'll be spinning the beats, it will be only him there. That's my understanding of the way they wrote it at least.

Yes but he was the only one last year except with the short live PA by Rank 1.. along with singers who just sing over their own songs....

i was reading about hudson river park..where pvd is spinning it says its both new york city and ny state park

His new cd is like 75% vocal tracks. So might want to hype it up a bit unless he knows bringing vocalists would be epic fail.

I just started listening to his new CD (i think it was Imagine right?) today so I can't comment much as i only heard like one or two songs.

But yea, some hard beats would be nice. Don't know about others but an oldie like Sail is nice & similars, (i personally like that song)

But 10:00pm on the DOT was absolutely FAIL.
I thought there will be some sort of ending song rather then just a straight up cut off. It was getting better and better around that time too

I remember when I stood in line for 3 cups (friends) by the time i got somewhere near the middle i spilled a lot. But then again if u have one then u can start drinking when u get it :P

Question,

Since this is all ages, how crazy-full of kids will this be? In past out-door, all aged parties in NYC were there tons of young kidlits running around? Women with baby carriages and the like?

Yea, and one more time, Made doesnt seem to listen to this request from last year...NO BROOKLYN BREWERY!! (PVD as well!)

2 BB Beers + jumping around, dancing = painful and unable to drink more...(-and last years attempt at a lighter beer i.e. "BB Summer Ale" was not effective at all either...)

Plus they would make more money on beer sales as well...Not the end of the world, but oh well

And apparently they are going to have a sick laser/light show and video system. Supposed to be a live feed I think.

saw chemical brothers last summer, was a pretty sick show. that venue is absolutely amazing. considering i'll be living a few blocks from mccarren pool in a couple weeks, i've got no choice BUT to go.

have never seen armin live, so it'll be interesting to find out how this event will turn out.
