knowing the right people is one thing. having those "right" people put your name on a free guestlist the anniversary weekend is another.

soooooo many of my acquaintances say they know "X" person from "X" club and that they can get free "X" amount of passes for "X" event. it's funny tho, when it comes down to it at 3am the night of "X" event, mine and maher's cell phones are ringing off the hook and they're asking us (of all people) to 'sort something out'.

so much for 'knowing' the 'right' people huh?

just saying that in my experience, soooooooo many people make claims that are just pure bullshit. and then they fall back on others when their claims fall through and they're still waiting outside trying so desperately to get in.

anyways aside from 'knowing the right people' as you say, i think if reduced/free glist was floating around at all for this weekend at redlite, a redlite promoter would have offered it by now. the same way stereo's and circus' crew has people post on here and offer reduced glist for their events.

by the way, for the person that said the capacity is 2500, well that's the WHOLE club. There are two rooms. I've been there before, and I highly doubt the house room will be able to hold more than 1200 people.

it's just annoying when those people think they're hot shit and make huge claims then they fall back on us (of all people) to get inside a club for free. it's kinda pathetic if you ask me and unfortunately reflects the kinds of people running the afterhours scene here in montreal. each one of them is full of shit to some extent. but what can i say? they are just club owners afterall right?

my point is that sooooooooooooo many people in this city are ALL talk and they're becoming increasingly hard to avoid cuz they're becoming the people who have a say in what goes down in this city.

hmm yeah but I think regular cover at redlite is already around the same price as reduced guestlist at circus or stereo.. its cheap.. just that you have to drive up there

and there is such a thing as free rl passes but i dunno if they work for big events

it is 25 $..says so on the website, Menno is supposed to start at 4. Insomnia will be before I think..see u guys tonight

Place opens at 2..headliners usually start at 4.

I really thought Montrealers would've packed up the place with such a DJ. as soon he was done, the club was empty.. I couldn't stand wizz that much so I left by 9am

Nice set from Menno ! Played "Ralphie B-Ralphie" (which is on one's of PvD CD) so went yaaaaaaaaaaa (some guy asked me which track it was, so if you're reading this, here you go !!!) and also 4 Strings-Take me away (some remixed played on ASOT) and closed with "as the rush comes". Also played "Big Sky". In between some nice banging tracks for this 3 hours set.

The place was not too packed, what's going on with trance lovers ?

I went Nuts when he dropped "Ernesto vs. Bastian - Thrill [High Contrast]"

That was s1ck!

+ i had a lot of funs with glowstick haha.

As for wizz it looked good but i had to go back to quebec around 9am so i left.

and "montrealers" as you say...well sorry to break it to you but montrealers prefer house and always have and hopefully always will. menno de jong is really not that big of a name; well clearly from what im reading, not big enough to pull proper montreal crowds. i don't think trance pulls the redlite crowd either.

that means, then, that tonight will be madness.

and im just curious i hafta ask you...why do you think menno is "such a DJ"?

whyyyyyyy do people post stuff like that? it clearly implies you were high as a kite (i mean if one is having fun with glowsticks, you hafta be high; i think there's a general consensus on that one) and of course your back hurts! you were on (meth)amphetamines and/or mdma/mda (if you were lucky )! these aren't things you wanna tell people over message boards, am i wrong?

edit: if you weren't rolling, i apologize profusely. granted, dancing alone can make your back hurt butttttt i really don't believe glowsticks can be fun under any circumstance.

here's my glowstick story which resulted in my hatred for them: this one dude (TO asian guy, obviously he has to be from TO and asian lol) was trying to trip me out a while back at aria. i politely told him to stop waving that thing in my face. he apologized but continued anyway claiming that "he was really feeling it". i swiped it from him, threw it across the dancefloor and didn't say a word. he was so shocked it was priceless, HA! he avoided the entire night afterwards. i think all glowsticks should be banned at afterhours/events for the sheer fact that there are too many people who hate them and are annoyed by them.
