JUST ADDED: SCOTT RICHARDSON (SYDNEY/TRANCETRIBE)
Founder of Trancetribe, which has become a staple in the Australian electronic dance music movement, Scott Richardson is a name that is synonymous with trance in Australia. His support and involvement with the scene has seen Scott become a respected member of the rapid moving Electronic Music world. His on stage performances both locally and abroad have been highly regarded, and Scott has experienced a rapid rise to fame during the past five years. Being honored to already have been a resident at several prolific club nights in Sydney, Australia, plus various appearances at the most prestigiouse special events, Scott now further's his passion for music with production and remix projects. With work on his own record label, Trancetribe Recordings also being a primary focus for Scott as well as his further developing the online community www.trancetribe.com, 2008 will be a very fulfilling year.
In 2003, Scott, along side his now wife, Vanessa Hamilton, launched Trancetribe.com. Trancetribe, a dedicated online trance community and news web site, saw a massive response from the Australian dance community. Over the past 4 years, Trancetribe has grown to be the largest dedicated trance web site in Australia, and now attracts members from all over the world. The Trancetribe phenomenon grew to new levels in early 2005 when Scott launched Australia's own dedicated trance record label, Trancetribe Recordings. TTR is now a respected trance record label, and in 2008 will be devoting all of its attention on Australian producers and remixers.
As a DJ, one could say that things have been a rollercoaster ride for Scott, who has been honoured to play at some of the country's most respected events by some of the world's biggest brands. These include multiple performances at Godskitchen, currently the world's biggest trance icon; Gatecrasher, and Slinky. Not to mention various performances at some of Australia's own finest EDM events including Future Music Festival. This Sydney based DJ has been honored to support the likes of Ferry Corsten, John Askew, John O'Callaghan, MIKE, Above & Beyond, Gabriel & Dresden, and recently, Paul an Dyk.
It was the small, underground trance parties that kick started Scott's DJ career, however. As these events grew to become more popular, Scott founded his first residency - A Night Of Trance. Scott's unique, yet undoubtedly melodic trance heavy sound has earned him a solid following throughout the clubs. However it has been his versatility as a DJ, technically articulate mixing and careful track selection that has proven him to be a highly regarded performer, often given the toughest opening sets before international artists, with a vow to build tension for the guests. Via a combination of progressing through the various sub styles of trance and adding elements of progressice, tech and techno, Scott has been able to create exciting atmospheres in clubs. Building up the tension and letting it explode with massive uplifting bombs, or taking the sound on a darker tip with tech trance are common traits of an SR set.
Ultimately, it's the organic and euphoric melodies that drive Scott's sound as a DJ. But also expect a tough and driving influence to the overal music style. Producers such as John Askew, John O'Callaghan and Octagen are among Scott's top producers, and their sound has definitely made a mark on Scott's overal flavour as a DJ. It goes without saying, however, that DJs like Tiesto and Armin van Buuren have heavily influenced Scott's sound, and Scott draws from both the melodic nature of Armin's sound, and also the rougher, more tech flavoured styles of Tiesto.
To many local fans, Scott is regarded as the country's finest club trance DJ. But ultimately, at the deepest level, it's Scott's passion for the music that shines through his modest character. One to often be seen on the dance floor before and after his sets, regularly reminding friends and fans that "he doesn't feel like a DJ, but rather a punter and fan who gets to play the music he loves".
Make sure you don't miss a performance by Scott Richardson, who will remind you of why trance is so special.

ADDED: ROSSCO (SYD/TRANCETRIBE)

Since bursting onto the Newcastle electronic music scene in early 2004, Rossco has maintained momentum in raising his profile as one of the most innovative Trance and Techno DJs to come out of the steel city. Energetic sets filled with slamming drums, below the belt basslines and turntable trickery to amaze the hardest follower, Rossco delivers on all levels.
Armed only with a record bag full of the latest and yet to be released tunes from some of the genres biggest labels including Armada, Soundpiercing, Detox, Stay up Forever, and countless more, Rossco will be again leading the way for this seasons style: well predicted to be heavily percussion based and packed full of screaming lead riffs and driving bass. As has been proven countless times in the past, he will be one step ahead of the pack.
Never backing away from a challenge, Rossco has been known to throw all conventions out the window and push the boundaries just that bit further, like stepping up to the turntables and playing an entire set without headphones (Transmission DJ Comp, 2006) or combining three different genres in what can only be described as a juggling act mixing tracks on four CD turntables, spiced up with looping and effects (Traffik Jam III, 2007).
Rosscos supports list reads like a whos who of Trance and Techno including: Eddie Halliwell, Above and Beyond, Cosmic Gate, John 00 Fleming, Public Domain, Alex Kidd, Matt Hardwick, Scott Bond, Scot Project, Anne Savage, John Askew, Organ Donors, The Thrillseekers, DJ Wag, Kyau vs Albert, Christopher Lawrence, and more at some of the worlds most respected dance events, such as: Godskitchen, Slinky, and Trancetribe: Experience.
