No Malek, you will not see it in your life time. In fact, no one will ever see it. Why? Because the "patriotic" Quebecois attitude is being watered down as it filters into the younger generations. The seperatists are fighting for a dying cause. Immigration, EMIGRATION, urban expansion, even language evolution are all factors that are weakening the seperatist movement - while I agree that those who DO believe in it are alive and kicking in their cause - they are fighting for something that has no possibility of happening anytime in the near future ... they are fighting for something the younger generations don't care about. The younger generations are also a hybrid mix of sons and daughters of immigrants who don't share this "Quebecois Patriotism" (obvious exceptions such as yourself, I suppose) ... This is just how I see things. I don't agree nor do I disagree with the seperatists' ideology.

PS. I'm sorry... what is this thread even about? excuse me for the hijack.

zzzzzzzzzz with all due respect

keep this in mind, 5% wanted separation in the 60s, now its closer to 35-40%. The idea is making its way, it takes time. Look they even converted an immigrant to the cause /raises hand.

P.S. Since when did the young people care about anything?

Mark my words that it's on it's way back down to 5% ... graph this whole seperatist phenomenon - one BIG parabola. By the time anything would get ratified, the gunners will be gone. They are fighting for a cause that will be of concern to no one in 100 years time. I'm not being pessimistic... this is just how I see things.

PS. Are you judging me by my age? Faut pas pleurer si je fais de la gueule, cheri

what age, i don't even know you, how old are you supposed to be?

The funny thing, is that, I don't know what they teach you in Canada, but every now and then, Federal clowns in power claim victory over the separatist movement, that its dying, that Quebec claims have been adressed and separation is useless, etc etc. They have been saying this for 150++ years...

Separation might not be the first thing on everyone's mind, it's still there and not going anywhere, either if you're for it, or against it. You need to open the French radio here and listen to what the common jean is saying, separation is wanted big time. I can't blame you though for not knowing this, there is really two solitudes in this country and the case for separation is off the radar in Canada.

Btw, never in Quebec's history, the three parties in the Assemble Nationale have been so nationalistic, even the Liberals are unrecognizable (they do have deputies that went on record for being pro-separation!), even M. Charest said himself that Quebec would do just fine on its own if it were a separate country! Can you believe this? If Canada was a dictatorship, Charest would have been "taken care of".

Seriously, I hate talking about this on a forum, people in toronto will believe that i hate them because I believe in separation.

We can continue this by email or facebook if you want.
